4 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time Parish Happenings Mass Schedule Change Beginning Wednesday, September 5, 2018 the 9:30 am Mass on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday will move to 9:20 am. The Interim Mass/Confession schedules will be released the weekend of September 8/9, Interim schedules will be published in parish bulletins, made available online and posted at the doors of the churches. Also, the universal distribution of the Pittsburgh Catholic, which will include a complete guide to all interim Mass and confession schedules, will be delivered to homes September 13, Thank you for your patience and ongoing support. Labor Day Weekend On Saturday September 1, 8:30am Mass will be replaced by a Communion Service. There will still be First Saturday Devotions, but no Confessions on Saturday, September 1. Monday, September 3, there is only one Mass at 8:30 am, no Adoration or Confession. Mission Appeal Weekend Mission Appeal will be Labor Day (September 1-2) weekend. A priests from Kenya will be speaking at all Masses and we will have a 2nd collection that same weekend. New RCIA Season Set to Begin Do you know someone who might want to join the Catholic Church? Do you want to become more involved in your own faith and learn more? Do you just want to find out more about the Catholic Church and what it teaches? Consider joining us for RCIA, the Rite of Christian Initiation for Adults. It s open to anyone who is curious about our Church and our faith. Classes will begin on Wednesday September 26 at 7 PM in the Rectory Conference Room of St. Bernadette. 5 Saint Bernadette Parish August 26, 2018 Parish and Community Announcements North American Martyrs Picnic North American Martyrs Parish cordially invites those in our new grouping, Group 451, to attend the 4:00 PM Mass and share in fellowship with us at our annual parish family picnic. The picnic will take place on our grounds at 2526 Haymaker Road in Monroeville on Saturday, September 8. The menu includes hot dogs, baked beans, fried chicken, sweet corn, kielbasa & sauerkraut, and refreshments. Please bring a dessert to share. Contemporary Choir The choir is looking for an accomplished bass player as well as a keyboard player. Rehearsals are on Tuesday evenings once or twice per month and play mass typically two Sundays per month. New singers are also always welcome! John Michael Talbot Concert Saint Bernadette Parish will welcome Grammy award winning singer songwriter John Michael Talbot on Sunday, September 16, 2018 at 3:00 p.m. Tickets are on sale at the parish office. We will be studying the seven deadly sins and virtues. If interested and wish to join us, please call Kim Youth Group Our Grouping #451 (St. Bernadette, North American Martyrs, St. Bartholomew, St. Susanna, and St. Gerard Majella) Youth Group will host our Kickoff event on Sunday, September 2, 2018 from 7 to 9 pm in the gym of the Lourdes Center. Yes, we are starting on Labor Day weekend, and we know that some of you may be out of town, but we are excited to get up and running. 7th through 12 graders who are parishioners in our grouping are invited to join us for awesome games, food & drinks, and Bible teachings. We grew in the school year from 5 kids in the Youth Group to over 40 kids. Our church needs strong young adults to witness hope, love, and joy to everyone in our lives to show the beauty of our church and our faith!
