2 PASTOR S DESK SPIRITUALITY AND FAITH DRAWN INTO THE STORY We are witnesses! The scripture readings for Easter Sunday concentrate on details reported by eyewitnesses. Listen carefully and you will be drawn into the stories yourself. Peter reports the good works Jesus did, his death on the cross, and his resurrection. The passage from John s Gospel has us running to the empty tomb with Peter and John and peering inside to see the cloths used to cover Jesus body. Psalm 118 sums up our response: It is wonderful in our eyes! What resurrection details do we see in our lives today? How have we died to our old lives and been raised up again with Jesus? Let us pay attention to the new life around us. It is wonderful in our eyes. Come and join us on April 5th as we begin our next video based series from Formed.com. We will be discussing Divine Mercy: The Second Greatest Story Ever Told. Sessions will be held on Tuesday at 7 PM and Thursday at 9:30 AM in the Family Center. We hope to see you there! TRADITIONAL LATIN MASS COMMUNITY We have seen His star and are come to adore Him. Mt.2:2 On April 3, 2016 we will celebrate a Solemn Extraordinary Form of Mass at 12:10 PM. This will be the first time a Solemn Mass (which is entirely sung and requires a deacon and subdeacon) has been offered at St. Pius X in the Extraordinary Form. Clergy from the Priestly Fraternity of St. Peter (FSSP) will be the Celebrant, deacon, and subdeacon of the Mass. This will include Fr. Benoit Guichard and our own parishioner, Deacon Tony Dorsa, FSSP, who was ordained to the diaconate on March 12. Following the Mass a lunch reception will be provided in the cafeteria. Please come and visit with Fr. Guichard and to congratulate Deacon Dorsa. PRAYER TO ST. PIUS X Glorious Pope of the Eucharist, Saint Pius X, you sought "to restore all things in Christ." Obtain for me a true love of Jesus so that I may live only for Him. Help me to acquire a lively fervor and a sincere will to strive for sanctity of life, and that I may avail myself of the riches of the Holy Eucharist in sacrifice and sacrament. By your love for Mary, mother and queen of all, inflame my heart with tender devotion to her. Blessed model of the priesthood, obtain for us holy, dedicated priests, and increase vocations to the religious life. Dispel confusion and hatred and anxiety, and incline our hearts to peace and concord so that all nations will place themselves under the sweet reign of Christ. Amen. Saint Pius X, pray for us.
