2 Third Sunday of Easter Prayer Before Worship: Holy One, how amazing you are! You reveal yourself to each one of us in many and varied ways. Lord, help us to see, hear and respond to your call; open our eyes and ears, our hearts and minds to all that you wish to say to us, to all that you call us to and help us to face our fears so that we may obey your call. 9 TIME AND TALENT SHEETS Please be sure to fill out and return your completed Time & Talent Surveys to the church office as soon as possible. Copies are in the narthex. WELCA MISSION PROJECT for April is the Bakeless Bake Sale. Instead of asking for bakers and turning around and buying the items, the women are asking for cash donations in the amount you would normally spend to make or buy baked items. Money raised goes to our mission projects for the world, the nation and our local community. Please use the envelopes located in your narthex mailboxes. HELPSHELF UPDATE The Calvary Campus Ministry Board would like to thank those who have donated to the WNCC Nursing HelpShelf. The HelpShelf provides some essentials for students who may need them. Our wish list includes kleenex (individual packages), laundry detergent (small bottles), deodorant, popcorn (MICROWAVEABLE), Mac & Cheese or any other individual entrees, individual bags of chips or granola bars. Thank you for your support of this project. ENCHILADA SALES The Houston Kids will be selling enchiladas and pork chili as a fundraiser to help fund their trip to the ELCA Youth Gathering in Houston this summer. Sales will start Sunday, April 8 th. See Angie or any of the Houston Kids to order yours. Thank you for your support. CONFIRMATION SUNDAY APRIL 29 When a child is baptized, we, as the people of God, promise to support and pray for them in their new life in Christ. Your presence on this special day is one way you can fulfill the promise we as a church made to God. We rejoice that Katelyn Newton and Ashland Todd will be affirming the Baptismal promises made for them at their baptisms. Please include these youth in your prayers and come celebrate with them on April 29 th. 9

10 RIVERSONG CHANCEL SINGERS CONCERT The Riverside Chancel Singers will be performing this year on Sunday April 22 nd at 2 p.m. at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 2314 Third Avenue in Scottsbluff. 12 Paul s Conversion Acts 9:1-19 Saul becomes of pillar of the early church, but his story reminds us that it is often the least likely who are called to do great things in God s name. Paul admitted he was an unlikely believer, but became a primary leader in the church. Some may feel that they do not know enough or trust enough to do something big, but those are not the criteria that God uses. As disciples, each of us has been called by God and equipped to share the good news of God s love in Jesus. Daily Bible Home Sunday Read Acts 9:1-19 Paul has a life-changing encounter with Jesus. Has there been a moment that has radically changed or grown your own faith? Monday Read Acts 9:19b-24 Paul s life is in danger. Pray for those whose life is in danger because of their faith today. Tuesday Read Acts 9:26-31 Barnabas stands up for Paul. Consider how you might stand up for someone in need this week. Wednesday Read Acts 13:1-12 Barnabas and Saul are commissioned by the Apostles to preach in Cyprus. Pray for someone you know who travels to share the gospel. Thursday Read Acts 15:1-21 The disciples discuss how Gentiles might be received into the faith. Read Amos 9:11, which is quoted in today s passage.
