We re glad to gather together as a community of faith today. No matter where you are on the journey of faith, you are welcome here to join in worship and service. All are invited to a time of refreshment and conversation immediately following worship, hosted today by Marilyn Schindler. If you are new to this community of faith, we rejoice in your presence with us. Remember, we re not strangers, but rather friends who journey together, following the Lord Jesus Christ. If you are a newcomer, we invite you to sign the pew pad. Please turn off all cellular phones, pagers and watch alarms during worship. Please refrain from using flash photography during the worship service. If you are seated on the aisle, and the sanctuary is filling with people, kindly move toward the center of the pew, allowing others to enter and join the community with the least disturbance to others. Thank you. CHILD CARE is available on the lower lever for infants/toddlers and pre-school. Two child-care attendants staff the infant/toddler room and parent volunteers staff the preschool/kindergarten room during services. If you are able to assist in the care of our children, please contact the church office.

His presence is not announced so much by searing light or angelic song as it is by the gradual recognition of something holy enmeshed in our daily lives: simple as salt, common as bread, as unexpected as a treasure buried in a field! Such is the presence of Christ with us in each ordinary day. God, turn our attention gently to the growth stirring within us, to a presence not as captivating to our senses as it is infinitely precious to our hearts. Christ no longer agonizes in the garden, is no longer fixed upon a cross, no longer lies within the tomb. He is risen, walking the roads that we walk, facing our life shoulder to shoulder with us. Grant us the eyes of faith and trusting hearts, O God, to see our Risen Lord and to hear what he bids us do. The purpose is to receive the reports of the Nominating Committee and to elect officers. A Special Thank you to Laura Van ostrand for all she has done since establishing and chairing the SUPPORT OUR TROOPS initiative in She is relinquishing her role to Alice Estes, who has graciously agreed to accept the challenge as Chair. Over the past 7+ years, the mission has successfully served our Summerville -and -Irondequoit-connected service men and women in combat areas of Iraq and Afghanistan with letters of encouragement and support as well as care packages. A OU CEME TS OUR COMMU ITY A Pampered Chef Fundraiser for RAIH will be held on Thursday, May 19, from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at Third Presbyterian Church (East Ave. & Meigs St.) in their newly renovated Celebration Center. 25% of the proceeds will go the benefit RAIHN. The event will also promote the RAIHN cookbook, which will be available soon. Call Wanda at the Day Center to let her know you ll be there. Come, bring a friend and join the fun! Our Monthly Mission Focus area for May is Support Our Troops. In addition to writing notes of support and thanks we would like to collect items for the care packages. Your donation will be sent off to a soldier with a Summerville or Irondequoit connection. The package contains the notes written by our congregation and lots of goodies to be shared with the soldier and his/her

5 outfit. Please remember that soldiers serving overseas have little storage space and must carry over 50 lbs. in gear. So think small. Think camping. Think travel size packages, and always, no glass, and nothing that melts. Donations can be placed in the marked box in the SPC foyer.
