World Mission Sunday October 22 & 23 This weekend we will be taking up a special collection for World Mission Sunday to support the Church s missionary activities. Offerings this Sunday provide financial assistance to about 1,150 missionary dioceses in Asia, Africa, Latin America, and the Pacific Islands. This is a practical way for us to show Christ s love for those whose practice of our faith needs our support. We appreciate your generosity for the Missions. All Hallow s Eve Party Religious Education is inviting the parish to an All Hallow s Eve Party on October 31 st from 5:00 6:30 pm in the Hall. We encourage Good Guys, Bible and Saint Costumes. There will be games, candy, pizza and more. Bring your carved pumpkin for a contest, too. We look forward to seeing you there! We are accepting candy donations for All Hallows Eve Party in a box in the vestibule. Thank you. Upcoming Events The Church Women Together Bazaar is celebrating their 37 th year. It is around the corner, November 18 th, 5-8 pm, and November 19 th, 9-3 pm. Please start thinking of items to donate this year. We look for craft items, baked goods, jams & jellies, and much more. Also, we would appreciate any volunteer help to set up and clean up. 5 Parish Cookbook News We still have several cook books available at the office during business hours, Giovanni s Hair Affair, The Beauty Corral, El Tepeyac Grille, and from any cookbook committee member. First Friday, Adoration & Benediction June 3 rd will be First Friday of the month. The 8:00 am Mass will be followed by Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament until Benediction at 6:00 pm. Come and spend some quiet time in adoration with Our Lord, or better yet, commit to one holy hour. We are forming a choir for Holy Week. We are practicing on Tuesdays at 5:30 pm in the church. All are welcome to come and join. We are singing on Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil, and Easter Sunday. 6 March 4 & 5 During the Jubilee Year of Mercy, the Holy Father, Pope Francis, and our own Bishop Jaime Soto invite all Catholics in the Diocese of Sacramento to celebrate the 24 hours for the Lord! For 24 straight hours from Friday, March 4, 2016, at Noon until Saturday, March 5, 2016, at Noon, the Sacrament of Reconciliation will be offered continuously at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Please celebrate the 24 hours for the Lord by receiving the Sacrament. This is the perfect opportunity for all Catholics to come together to experience the Lord s loving mercy.
