A Baptism Preparation session is required for the baptism of your first child. 5 Roman Catholic Diocese of Calgary Announcements from the Catholic Pastoral Centre EMERGENCY RELIEF AID FOR FLOOD VICTIMS IN TEXAS AND ASIA Catholic Charities and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul in the Archdiocese of Galveston/Houston will be providing direct long-term assistance and case management services to victims displaced in flood in Texas. In Asia, Caritas organizations are responding to the needs in India, Nepal and Bangladesh by providing food, clean drinking water, and shelter. Emergency relief is also focused on preventing the spread of waterborne disease by delivering health, hygiene and sanitation support. Donations can be made through the Diocese website or cheques can be forwarded to the Pastoral Centre Ave SW. For more information and to donate visit and click on "Donate". BISHOP'S DINNER Bishop s Dinner Bishop McGrattan will host his very first Bishop s Dinner on Thursday, October 19. This year s theme is Youth & Vocations - Their Faith, The Church. Michael Chiasson will give the keynote address and Bishop McGrattan will share his vision for the youth. Catholic singer/songwriter Janelle is our musical guest. Tickets are $175 or $1400/table of 8. DIOCESAN PASTORAL CARE COURSE The Fall 2017 Diocesan Pastoral Care Training Program will begin on Tuesday September 26 and run for 7 consecutive Tuesday evenings from 6:30pm - 9:30pm until November 7. This course will introduce you to the basic visiting skills required for Pastoral Care Ministry in health care facilities or parish. Registration fee: $50. 8 Serving Okotoks for 20 years Okotoks Food Bank (OFB), Annual Fall Food Drive Okotoks and Area 2 nd Annual Fall Food Drive Sat, Sept 16th. We will need experienced Food Bank volunteers to help out at the LDS Hall and here at the OFB warehouse to unload donations on Food Drive day Sept 16th. Extra sorting sessions will be scheduled for 2 weeks after the Food Drive, Sept Please let us know if you are available. If anyone would like to learn or refresh sorting skills please let Sandi know and we will arrange for you to join a regular Sort Team for a session during the next two weeks.
