Teenagers and men with conviction who will recognize God has called us to be Catholics for such a time as this because we live in a generation where there are many forces intent on undermining Catholic faith, identity and practice. A Baptism Preparation session is required for the baptism of your first child. March 4: Lent Week 3 Jesus is on His way to Jerusalem to celebrate Passover. He quickly responds to the appalling acts taking place in the temple with holy audacity, righteous anger, and consuming zeal. Just as Jesus clears the temple, if we are living temples of the Holy Spirit, we can also ask what abominations are taking place in us. Action: Pray to the Holy Spirit to identify what needs to change in your life. Dare to ask God for help and mercy. Pray for the tragedy of abortion, across the street from the Kensington Clinic where most abortions are carried out in Calgary. An estimated average of one abortion per hour occurs at this clinic. As St. John Paul II stated we are called to challenge our culture of death which sees destructive measures of problem solving as valid. Let s join together for this prayerful vigil, giving witness to the dignity of human life. To be part of this prayer vigil, participants must be motivated by love and concern for the mother and child, as well as for the staff, witnessing on behalf of a seemingly ambivalent human community that their lives matter to us. Signs held at this vigil must be life affirming and nonjudgemental. Please consider praying in the designated area across from the Kensington Clinic during this 40 day campaign. Idols do not always take the shape of physical things, things we can touch and feel. Those are easy to recognize.
