The joy we feel at this time of year as Catholics is not an ambiguous joy, but a focused joy, joy at the reality that the author of salvation is born into the world to redeem us, joy that we have the promise of everlasting joy for all eternity, and joy at drawing nearer in intimacy with God. Speaking of intimacy with God, I hope during this Advent season you have taken the time to abide with Jesus and deepen your friendship with Him, I hope that you will make the time for the sacrament of Reconciliation and are aware of the additional times for confessions scheduled. I encourage our Religious Education parents to come with their children to receive the forgiveness of sins. May we prepare our hearts, minds and spirits, ever more readily to welcome the One who is the Light of the World. Continue to have a most blessed Advent season, Love, Fr. Paul ST. Mass is offered for the support, healing and recovery of not only the man/woman directly infected with the abuse of alcohol or drugs, but also for anyone involved in the life of the alcoholic or drug addict. ANNUAL PBA TOY DRIVE The Closter Police Dept. and Northern Valley PBA Local 233 is sponsoring their annual toy drive to benefit the Sanzari Children s Hospital, Tomorrow s Children Hospital, Birthright of Bergen County, Cerebral Palsy of North Jersey, and military families.
