RACHEL S VINEYARD RETREAT For those looking for healing after abortion, a Rachel s Vineyard Weekend Retreat will be held Friday, August 10th through Sunday, August 12th in Lansing. This retreat experience is for anyone impacted by abortion: married couples, mothers, fathers, grandparents and siblings of aborted children, as well as persons who have been involved in the abortion industry. 4 FAITH COMMUNITY NEWS BUSINESS MANAGER POSITION SS. Charles & Helena and St. Francis Xavier, sister parishes, are seeking a Business Manager for 29 hours a week. You must be a practicing Catholic. Responsible for assisting the pastor in the stewardship of parish finances. Responsibilities include: cash management, account analysis, quarterly/annual financial statements, processing payroll, maintaining employee benefits and personnel files, and oversees management of facilities. Additional duties include supervising secretaries, bookkeeper, and maintenance staff of both parishes. Works in close collaboration with the pastor and Finance Council. DIOCESAN ASSEMBLY PRAYER PROJECT Bishop Boyea is looking for people to pray in a special way for the Diocese of Lansing and the upcoming Made for Happiness assembly. He has blessed four framed images of Our Lady of Guadalupe, Patroness of the Americas, and is asking for these images to rotate between private homes throughout the Diocese of Lansing leading up to the assembly. Each family that volunteers is asked to pray before the image for half an hour or more in their home before passing it onto the next volunteer. Sign up at madeforhappiness.org, click on Support. A Made For Happiness parish representative will be available at all Masses this weekend to assist with the registration process for the upcoming assembly, as well as take bus reservations and t-shirt orders. If you are planning on attending the Made for Happiness assembly, you must be registered through the Diocese website at whether you are going by bus or by car. If you don t have access to a computer, parish representatives will have computers on hand in order to assist you in the process. There will be two buses going to the assembly. Bus one is for those choosing to walk in the Adoration procession. The bus will leave SS. Charles and Helena Church s parking lot at 7:00 a.m. and arrive at the Cathedral at approximately 8:00 a.m. Bus two will leave the church parking lot at 9:00 a.m. and go directly to the Breslin Center, arriving at approximately 10:30 a.m. The cost to ride the bus is $10.00 per person. Sign-up sheets are available through August 19th to reserve a seat on one of the buses. Late registration will not be permitted. Payment is due at the time of sign-up. T-shirts will be available to anyone wishing to purchase one. Sign-up sheets will be in the gathering space with the bus sign-up sheets. We haven t confirmed the price on t-shirts but were assured they will cost $7.00 or less. All orders must be in by August 19th. An exact price will be available once we have a head count of the amount we are ordering. Both youth and adult sizes are available. You will be able to see the t-shirt design at the Made For Happiness table before purchasing.
