Cape Fear Habitat for Humanity St. Therese is joining 5 other churches in Wilmington to build a house this spring at 1901 Lingo Street, Wilmington.

Our work started on February 17 with the groundbreaking and will end on June 2 with landscaping and clean up. The support of our parishioners has been GREAT.

There are always surprises which arise to prevent one from being able to meet their commitment.

We worked in cool weather, which we appreciated as the foundation is dug by hand. Thank you all for helping us build this Habitat house.

This year we are joining First Baptist Church, First Presbyterian Church, Holy Cross Episcopal Church, Little Chapel on the Boardwalk, and Masonboro Baptist Church to build this house. 5 Rice Bowls CRS Rice Bowl is Catholic Relief Services Lenten program for families and faith communities in the United States who want to put their faith into action. Through CRS Rice Bowl, participants are invited to hear stories about their brothers and sisters in need around the world, and devote their Lenten prayers, fasting and alms to change the lives of those who suffer in poverty. Participants journey through the 40 days of Lent with a collection of daily reflections and activities that can be found at There are a limited number of rice bowl boxes at the back of the church - please pick one up and return it to Church on Holy Thursday. Parking hangtags, valid from March 2018 through March 2019, will be available in March. You will be notified as to when you can come to the office to pick up your parking hangtag. Please also note that no temporary day passes will be issued for recreational beach use.

We read and discuss scripture, but most of the time spent together consists of open dialogue about how these readings relate to real events in our lives. It is a great way to build both faith and friendship. Regardless of your journey, the time spent together enables all of us to grow. Romans 8:31b SCRIPTURE CIRCLE Share God s word in fellowship Every Thursday - 12:45 PM in the Parish Hall You re invited to join fellow parishioners as we read and comment on the Scripture readings for the upcoming weekend Mass. It helps us to know why these readings were chosen and paired together as they are each week. This makes the Mass more understandable and we feel involved in the liturgy. We re a relaxed and friendly group with no pressure you can just come and observe. There are no right or wrong ideas, only a great variety inspired by the Holy Spirit to enrich us all. Together we learn more about our faith, grow closer to God and grow in our discipleship. Come join us. We are reforming the Ministry of Altar Guild in St. Therese Parish. The Altar Guild is devoted to the upkeep of the church and the sanctuary. This ministry will care for the linens, vestments, and the altar. They are also responsible for coordinating the altar cloth with the liturgical calendar. Members will weekly wash and iron linens used, check to see if vestments need cleaning, and perform light cleaning in the church and sanctuary, including wax removal from candle fixtures. Ideally, the Altar Guild members will work in teams so that each team is scheduled only once a month. It s a worthwhile and meaningful fellowship in the service of Our Lord.
