A special thank you to all who helped organize, distribute, sell and buy tickets for this parish fundraiser. $1,300 Lottery Raffle Ticket plays the 7:00pm PA Lottery Monday, May 7, 2012 Tickets for the May $1,300 Lottery Raffle will be sold at all Masses this weekend. Your support is appreciated! Saint Mark Parish 50/50 In your offertory packet there is a tan-colored envelope marked 50/50 Drawing - Donation $5.00. On Monday, April 30, all envelopes will be placed in a drum and one lucky winner will be drawn to win half the take. $14,000 BIG MONEY ticket supports SAINT MARK PARISH! Sales resume this weekend, April 14/15 For a $20.00 donation, this raffle supports our SAINT MARK PARISH family. Blessing on Divine Mercy Sunday Almighty and Eternal Father, in your goodness, bless and sanctify this Image of the Divine Mercy. Your dearly beloved Son, which has been fashioned to reveal to us the great love of our Crucified and Risen Savior, the Divine Mercy Personified. Help us to recall to our minds the streams of Blood and Water that had gushed forth from His pierced heart to be a continuous fount of mercy. Grant to all who invoke Your Mercy with this image before their eyes, the grace of true repentance, pardon and peace. Shield them from every danger to soul and body in this life. Jesus, our loving Savior, establish in this image the Throne of Your Mercy. Pour out upon all of us, who approach it with faith and trust, the purifying, healing and sanctifying rays of grace ever emanating from the Cross with Your great love and mercy so that we may be filled with Your grace. Through this image, may Your Divine Mercy triumph over all the powers of evil. May all who venerate this image never perish. May it be their joy in life, their hope in death and their glory in eternity for ever and ever. This we ask through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen! To our Youth Group members, coordinators, musicians and cantor who brought the Living Stations of the Cross devotional to life for us with such deep emotion; to our volunteers and staff who decorated and cleaned the worship sites for each celebration; to our sacristans, staff and liturgical coordinators who planned and prepared the celebrations with such care and attention; to our music director, musicians and choir members who helped each of us pray as one in mind and heart to God our Father; to our lectors, acolytes and extraordinary ministers of Holy Communion who served with such dignity and dedication; to the ushers/greeters/van drivers who called us to stewardship and assisted us in the celebration of our faith; to our parish nurse, Ladies of Charity and Christian Mothers for their service on my behalf to our family members who could not attend our church festivities; to Willig Funeral Home and the Borough Police who assisted in our Holy Thursday procession; and to each of you for being open to God s mighty and tender love, and for sharing God s love and healing forgiveness with someone else each and every day. You ALL are a gift and blessing to me! And you ALL share in making the Church Alive by living your faith and hope and love for the Risen Lord Jesus. Rejoice in the Lord He loves us! Our specialty baskets are one of the most popular attractions at the Festival. The baskets would not be possible without your donations. Spring is a great time to get crafting, and we appreciate all types of crafts and any and all donations. This year, we would like to have a great variety of crafts showcasing all of our talented crafters. Any type of craft woodworking, painting, needlepoint, cross-stitch, stamping, iron work, sewing, knitting, crocheting, for example, would be appreciated. Popular craft basket themes are as follows: Baby and Sports baskets. Any craft item for a Baby or Sports basket. We also would appreciate 2-yd. pieces of fleece to make blankets and pillows with any sports theme, team or baby theme. We also need any type or color of ribbon for the bows. We will have our Craft Drop-off on Monday, July 9 from 6:30-8:30 in Father Rowan Hall for the Festival. Thanks! Saint Mark Parish Easter Enrichment Series on The Evangelist and our Patron SAINT MARK This series began on April 11 and continues on Wednesday, April 18 and 25 from 7:00-8:30pm at the Port Vue worship site. Presenter: Maureen Crossen, Ph.D. You will learn more about the Gospel of Saint Mark and the challenges to our faith that Saint Mark presents. Throughout this first and shortest of the Gospels, Saint Mark explores the identity of Jesus as the astonishing manifestation of the One who is divine and human. To approach this theme, Saint Mark employs the themes of Jesus as the Suffering Servant of God (referenced by the Prophet Isaiah) and the Journey of Faith in which we are to take up the Cross and follow Christ. The series will end with a special celebration on Wednesday, April 25, the FEAST OF SAINT MARK. Refreshments will be served. LET S CELEBRATE TOGETHER!
