All are welcome to come forward to receive the body and blood of Christ in the bread and wine. The bread is gluten-free. Receive the bread with open hands, then dip it into either the chalice of wine or the glass goblet containing grape juice. If you have an allergy to eggs you may request a wafer. If you prefer a blessing, place your arms in front of your chest. You are also welcome to remain in the pew and offer prayers. Ushers will direct you to the communion line which forms at the back of the sanctuary and moves up to the altar rail. If you wish to have the Pastor serve Communion in the pew, please inform one of the ushers before the service begins. Thank you for bringing children to worship today. 2 kids, but it is such important work that helps them and the whole church. The sound of a child in worship is the sound of a new Christian being formed. The presence, energy, and noise of children are most welcome here. If needed, an attendant is available to be with children in the nursery and activity bags are also available there. The gates in the sanctuary weavings, the altar and pulpit paraments, Pastor Amy's stole, and the ribbons on our entry door wreaths display the color for this day. On Ash Wednesday, the first day of Lent, the liturgical color becomes purple. LENTEN MIDWEEK WORSHIP- After Ash Wed., the next five Wednesdays in Lent, Feb. 17-Mar. 16, we will worship at 5:30pm. We will sing Holden Evening Prayer, welcome guest choirs from Luther College, and reflect on the theme Coming to our Senses: Opening our Selves to God We ll consider how our physical senses can help us to pray, repent and experience the God who comes to us in the flesh. Special thanks to SUNDAY SCHOOL STUDENTS and their teachers and helpers for providing special music today. Thanks as well to the Good Shepherd Youth Bell Choir and all who contributed to the purchase of our new set of bells! The bells will be dedicated at an upcoming service. THE SUNDAY SCHOOL LENTEN PROJECT Each year the Sunday School invites the congregation to raise funds for a particular project. This year project funds will be split between a global effort and a local effort: the Lutheran Disaster Response support for Syrian Refugees and the Decorah Food Pantry. Our goal is to raise $2000 to split between the two organizations. The Sunday School children will be involved in activities that learn more about hunger and the refugee crisis. IMPORTANT DATES TO NOTE FOR SUMMER PLANNING: OVERNIGHT CAMP AT EWALU- Good Shepherd youth who have completed grades 2-12 are encouraged to attend Camp Ewalu this summer. Camp is a great way to enjoy God s world, make new friends, have fun, and grow closer to God. Good Shepherd youth will be attending Ewalu in Week 7, July 31-August 5, but you are welcome to attend anytime. The congregation will provide camperships to show our support this great faith building experience. To register or learn more go to Let Pr. Amy know when you register and she ll get the camperships funds to you.

5 EWALU DAY CAMP FOR DECORAH YOUTH- Ewalu will be offering a Day Camp in Decorah for youth who have completed grades K-6. It will be held at First Lutheran Church August 6-12 from 9am-3pm. The cost is $52. Good Shepherd will be helping to support this Day Camp and many Good Shepherd youth will be participating. Contact Pr. Amy if your child is interested or if you want to host or provide meals for day camp staff. GOOD SHEPHERD VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Will be Monday-Wednesday, August More details to come.
