From the Diocese Office of Communications Statement from Diocese on Holy Ghost Father William Malone Credible allegations of sexual abuse of a minor have been made against Father William Malone, a Holy Ghost Father who served in the Diocese of St. Augustine from January 1982 to March The abuses occurred in the early 1980s at Sacred Heart Parish in Jacksonville. A thorough review of the allegations was conducted by an independent investigator. Based on his report, the Diocesan Review Board found the allegations to be credible. The report has been shared with local law enforcement. Bishop Felipe Estévez has met with the victim to express his deep sorrow for the pain the victim has suffered, and he apologized on behalf of the church. Father Malone served as an associate pastor at Sacred Heart Parish in Jacksonville from 1982 to 1991, and associate pastor at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in Palm Coast from 1991 to He moved to the Holy Ghost Fathers community in Long Island, N.Y. in March In Sept he returned to the Ireland Province of the Holy Ghost Fathers where he remained until his death in If you or someone you know has been harmed by someone representing the Catholic Church, call the police. Violence in their home country, South Sudan, forced Annet to take her siblings and flee south to Uganda. It dangerous, but Annet kept them safe despite threats from rebel soldiers.

Bidi Bidi is home to nearly 300,000 South Sudanese who fled for their lives to Uganda. Life in Bidi Bidi is hard especially for a young woman trying to raise her siblings.

CRS is also helping people learn to farm and is giving them the tools they need to succeed. Annet was given her own plot of land to plant on so she will be able to continue providing for her siblings.

Since their parents deaths four years ago, 16- year-old Annet has been caring for her three younger siblings. It hasn t been easy. Violence in their home country, South Sudan, forced Annet to take her siblings and flee south to Uganda. It dangerous, but Annet kept them safe despite threats from rebel soldiers. For more than two years, Annet and her siblings have been living in Bidi Bidi, one of the world s largest refugee settlements. Bidi Bidi is home to nearly 300,000 South Sudanese who fled for their lives to Uganda. Life in Bidi Bidi is hard especially for a young woman trying to raise her siblings. That s why CRS is building houses for families. A place to call home means Annet can rest a little easier at night knowing her family is safe. CRS is also helping people learn to farm and is giving them the tools they need to succeed. Annet was given her own plot of land to plant on so she will be able to continue providing for her siblings. For her, that s the most important thing. While she wants her family to return to South Sudan one day, for now she knows that Bidi Bidi is the safer option. In the meantime, she encourages her siblings to go to school and does all she can to ensure they ll have a bright future. My hope is to raise my siblings, she says.
