3 Pastoral Scene Never Married in the Catholic Church? In recent years, many Catholics have been married in different venues than in a Catholic Church. While these marriages are recognized by the civil government, in most cases they are not recognized by the Catholic Church. To receive the Sacrament of Marriage, Catholics are required to be married in a Catholic Church, unless they receive special permission. As a result, being married outside the Catholic Church, many Catholics are unable to receive the Sacraments, and are unable to act as sponsors for Baptism and Confirmation. We would like to help anyone in this circumstance to solve their dilemma by Validating their present marriage in Church. This is not very difficult to do. Please call one of our Priests, or our Deacon, and make an appointment. We would explain the process for receiving the Sacrament of Marriage in Church, help with the preparation on an individual basis, (which is not extensive), and witness your Sacrament of Marriage in Church. There is no cost to this. Being married in the Catholic Church is so important for you and your family. Please make the call. I believe you will be happy you did. Fr. Thomas Haren EASTER FLOWER ENVELOPES You are encouraged to remember your deceased loved ones by using the Easter Flower envelope in your envelope packet. We ask that you please CLEARLY PRINT the names on the envelope. Turn your envelope in to the Parish Office or drop it in the collection basket as soon as you can, but no later than Palm Sunday, for the names to appear on the bulletin boards in the Rockside Road vestibule on Easter. St. Monica Parish Lenten Fish Fry If you have not had your Lenten Fish Fry Dinner yet, we are halfway through the season, so please plan on joining us on Friday, March 29, April 5, and 12. Serving begins at 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. in the school cafeteria. Our menu consists of Baked Salmon, Battered Cod, and Fried Shrimp dinners. We also have Homemade Cabbage and Noodles, Homemade Macaroni and Cheese, Potato Pierogi, and French Fries. Dessert and non-carbonated beverage included with dinner. Senior/Child menu available. Dine in or carry out available. We accept credit and debit cards. Handicapped accessible. Hope to see you there! Sandwich Saturday Join us this Lenten Season on Saturday, April 6th as we come together and prepare 300 sandwiches for the homeless on the streets of Cleveland and Akron. In addition to the sandwiches, we will also be putting jelly beans in plastic eggs to send along with the sandwiches for an Easter treat! If you are able to donate some bags of jelly beans, that would be helpful we already have the plastic eggs. We begin at 9:00 a.m. in the Parish Office. All are invited to join us!
