2 FEBRUARY 3, 2019 I THE FOURTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME My Dear Parishioners: The Gospel this Sunday reminds me of so many times in my life that I ve taken for granted the relationships that are closest to me. The people who grew up with Jesus and knew Him for years are the same ones that rejected Him in His ministry. They even wanted to kill Him to get Him to stop preaching! This seems extreme to us, but stop and think. How many times have we given the worst of ourselves to those closest to us like our spouse, children, coworkers, friends, or parents. In fact, sometimes God is using these people to reach us in our lives and we want nothing to do with it. Let us accept Christ always, even when He is speaking to us through the most familiar people in our lives. Let us give those closest to us the very best of ourselves. 9:00 & 11:00 Babysitting is available in the Cathedral Center Grace Suite for children ages 6 months 3 years. VOLUME 73 NUMBER 5 2
