From Father Kirby This weekend, we begin the conclusion of Advent as Christmas quickly approaches. I encourage everyone to use these last few days of Advent to parccularly draw closer to the Lord. Perhaps this could include going to Confession, picking up your Bible, saying a few extra prayers, or reaching out to the poor. All of these ways, and so many others, are always open to each of us! What a joy for us this weekend to formally welcome the first-class relic of Saint FausCna of the Divine Mercy! Please note the relic in the niche near the saint s statue! Tuesday is Christmas, the celebracon of the Lord s NaCvity. Please note the Christmas schedule in this bullecn. Please note that Christmas is a holy day of obligacon. AddiConally, please note that January 1 is the Solemnity of Mary, Mother of God. This is also a holy day of obligacon. You ll see our schedule for January 1 in this bullecn as well. With these holy days, the Church calls us to remember and to celebrate the true reason for the season. As believers, these days are about Jesus Christ and his saving work among us. Everything we do is about him! These holy days of obligacon are helps to us and safeguards to our holiday observance. They keep us focused on Jesus Christ! Molly Rusciolelli, our fellow parishioner and Parish Organist, will be heading to the convent on January 1. Molly s last with us will be next Sunday (December 30) at our 11:00 AM.
