All diocesan priests on active assignment in the diocese are required to attend. During this time, while Father Burger and Father Ben are at the conference, two visiting Benedictine priests will be staying at the rectory and will respond to emergencies. Our weekly Mass schedule will be celebrated as usual during the week. Please check the bulletin for the Mass schedule. WORLD MISSION SUNDAY This weekend we will celebrate World Mission Sunday. This year we are invited to support the 1,159 of the youngest diocese in Africa, Asia, the Pacific Islands, and parts of Latin America and Europe. Convenient Form Of Stewardship Online giving at Good Shepherd is an option for parishioners who may find this method of giving more convenient. Our website, contains the link to our online donation system, Netcharge. Parishioners have the ability to make monthly recurring donations online. For example, instead of making 52 weekly donations, you may authorize twelve monthly recurring payments that are regularly charged to your credit card (Visa, MasterCard, American Express or Discover) or your checking or savings account. Many Good Shepherd parishioners have found this to be a simpler and more consistent way of donating. Additionally, monthly recurring donations enable our parish to better plan and manage our finances. If you haven t enrolled in our online donation system and are interested, please visit the parish website and click on Netcharge, then click Register. Next follow the simple instructions to create a new account. A record of your contributions is kept on your account online, as well as posted to our records for tax purposes. 3 Safety Concern Parents, please strongly consider accompanying your children to the restroom during Mass. Younger children should always be supervised by parents or older siblings to ensure their safety while attending Mass and any functions at Good Shepherd. Thank you very much. TRINITY HIGH SCHOOL NEWS All students are welcome to our annual "Feeder School Tailgate" event on Friday, October 23, which is also Homecoming! The annual "Trunk or Treat" event will be held on Wednesday, October 28, from 6:00-8:00 p.m. in the school parking lot. All students, up to and including 5th grade are welcome! Please introduce yourself to the priests at Mass, and call or stop by the Parish Office to register. If you are changing address, or have older children moving out of the house, please notify the Parish Office as soon as possible. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass Sunday Vigil: Saturday at 5:30 p.m. Sunday: 7:30 a.m., 9:30 a.m., 11:30 a.m. The Sacrament of Reconciliation Saturday from 3:30-4:30 p.m. in the Chapel or call the Parish Office to make an appointment. The Sacrament of Baptism We celebrate Baptisms on the 1st Sunday of the month at 12:30 p.m. in the Church. Parents must be registered parishioners and complete Baptismal Instructions prior to Baptism. Please call the Parish Office at least 30 days in advance. The Sacrament of Matrimony Engaged couples, please contact the Parish Office to begin sacramental preparation prior to scheduling a wedding. Twelve months of sacramental preparation is normally required, including meeting with a Mentor Couple or attending an Engaged Encounter weekend. Sacrament of the Anointing of the Sick Anyone 7 years and older who is seriously ill, weakened by age or anticipating surgery may receive this sacrament. Arrangements should be made by calling the Parish Office. Communion to the Sick or Homebound First Fridays and the Third Sunday of the month, Holy Communion is taken to the Homebound, upon request, by the Priests, Deacons and Extraordinary Ministers of Holy Communion. In the Hospital or Nursing Home? Please notify the Parish Office when a parishioner is admitted to a Hospital, Rehabilitation Center, or Nursing Home. HIPAA rules prevent the Hospital from notifying the Parish directly. Courtesy Announcements The Chaplet of Divine Mercy will be sung at 3:00 p.m. at St. Theresa s Adoration Chapel in New Cumberland on Sunday, October 18. The Blessed Sacrament will be exposed for Adoration.
