It has now become necessary to replace the old books with new and current hymnals. Donations are being solicited to purchase the "Journey Song" hymnals at a cost of $17.00 per book. The goal is to have new books for St. Rose no later than January of SPECIAL NOTE: If you donate to cover the cost of a book(s) and if you wish, A PLATE WITH YOUR NAME will be attached to the hymnal(s) recognizing you as the donor. If you would like to make a donation, please contact Gloria in the parish office. The choirs will also be conducting fund raisers in the near future to help pay for books. DONATE AND RECEIVE A TAX CREDIT Donate up to $800 to the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Safford, St rose of Lima Conference and receive a dollar for dollar tax credit on your Arizona Income Taxes. Couples who file jointly can reduce their Arizona State Income taxes by up to $800; individual, or head of household filers can claim a tax credit of up to $400. The money you would otherwise pay in taxes can go to help the Society of St. Vincent de Paul help the poor in the Gila Valley. HOW DOES IT WORK? 1. Make a donation now to the Society of St Vincent de Paul, St rose of Lima Conference at 221 East Main Street, Safford AZ Prepare your state income tax return-you do not have to itemize your deductions. Complete Arizona Tax Form 321 and include it with your state tax return. You must use the QRC Code at the top for the form to receive the credit. If you have no Arizona tax liability for the current year, you may carry the tax credit forward for up to five years. Your donation may also be claimed as charitable deduction on your Federal Income Tax Return. The need is great, so please make your gift today and claim the tax credit on your Arizona State Income Taxes. REQUIREMENTS: Baptisms: The parents of the child to be baptized must submit a copy of the baby's birth certificate. Parents and godparents need to attend the parish baptismal class. Classes are given on the second Saturday of the month from 10:00 a.m. until noon. Please call the office to sign up for the next scheduled class. All requirements for the Diocese of Tucson and Saint Rose of Lima will be given to the parents at this time. Baptisms are performed the first and third Saturdays at 10:00 a.m. Our office staff is limited, therefore, sponsors and godparents proof of sacraments, documents and payment must be submitted at least one month before the baptism. When choosing godparents, if they are married, they must be married through the Catholic church, if single you must not be living with a partner. Donation is $ Quinceañera: The candidate and her parents must contact the office at least one (1) year or more before the date requested. Quinceañera are not performed during Holy Days. Requirements: Must have Baptism, First Holy Communion and be coming to Confirmation I. active within the parish, youth group, Religious Education, Mass attendance, etc. and Six(6) sets of meetings and volunteer ministries given by Fr. Nicodemus. Cost is $ There is a non-refundable deposit of $ to hold the date. Balance to the church must be received in the office one week before the ceremony. Weddings: The couple must contact office at least 6 months prior to the desired wedding date. An appointment will be made for the couple. At that time it will be determined if the date desired is available, and all requirements for the Diocese of Tucson and Saint Rose of Lima will be given to the couple. Donation is $ There is a non-refundable deposit of $50.00 to hold the date. Balance to the church must be received in the office one week before the ceremony. Funeral Arrangements: St. Rose and Our Lady have always asked for a donation to the Parish for its service. We also help those who can not afford funeral arrangements. We work with both mortuaries in town to make these arrangement s as easy as possible. They will waive donations if the family is in need.
