But the generosity of God know no limits the miracle at Cana reminds us that whenever we faithfully do as God asks, He can change our gifts of water into wine! The 2nd collection for this weekend: St. Vincent De Paul The 2nd collection for next weekend: Latin America Weekly collection: 01/09 01/10 $28, Sunday, February 14 th we will have our Annual Celebration of the Sacrament of Marriage for parish couples who celebrated in 2009 their 25, 40, 50 and 50 + years of Marriage in the Church. The Mass will be held at 11:30am with a reception for the couples in the Parish Hall immediately after. There will be a catered lunch and music by Rudy T (so wear your dancing shoes!). Please RSVP at , ext. 110 by February 10 th. We invite the couples to bring a framed wedding picture (to the Parish Office) to be displayed at the reception. R.C.I.A. Right of Christian Initiation of Adults The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) is a process of inviting people into the Catholic Church. The invitation is God s work; the response is ours. The process is a step by step journey of faith, in which interested people may slowly look at the Catholic Faith and decide if the Catholic Church is where they are being called; or for those who have been away from the Church for some time and would now like to come home to participate fully in the Sacramental life of the Church. If you have questions about the Catholic Faith or would like to know more about the RCIA process, please call the Faith Formation , ext. 138 or Martin Flu Precautions at Mass We now have the H1N1 vaccine available. The increased public awareness of public health risks has caused people to take common sense precautions that seem to be moderating the spread of the flu. Archbishop José Gómez has informed us that Dr. Fernando Guerra, Director of Health for San Antonio, stated what influenza activity has remained stable, we expect to see additional increases as we approach the traditional rise in seasonal influenza during the next few weeks. If conditions remain stable, we will return all the practices prior to the flu concerns, namely: refill Holy Water fonts, shaking hands or embracing the sign of peace, holding hands during the Lord s prayer, distribution of the Precious Blood and the option of communion on the tongue. We will resume normal practice on the weekend of January 23/24. Thank you for your adjustment over the past two months. With the large number of children and elderly in this parish, it was necessary to take precautions. Fr. Todas las precauciones tomadas por el publico para disminuir los riesgos de contraer este enfermedad se a moderado el contagio le la influenza. El Arzobispo José Gómez nos a informado que el Dr. Fernando Guerra, Director de Salud para San Antonio, declaro que aunque la actividad de la influenza se a mantenido estable, esperamos ver casos adicionales al acercarnos al tiempo en que aumenta la influenza estacional durante las próximas semanas. Si las condiciones permanecen estables, reanudaremos todas la practicas para la celebración de la Misa: el uso de la fuente del agua bendita, el saludo/abrazo al momento de la paz, el unir nuestras manos durante la oración del Padre Nuestro, la distribución de la Sangre Preciosa y la opción de recibir la comunión el la boca. Estas practicas se reanudaran el fin de semana del 23/24 de enero. Gracias por su comprensión durante los pasados meses. 3 Habitat for Humanity This is Habitat Volunteer Signup Weekend! The construction of the 9 th St. Luke Habitat house begins on Friday, February 19, 2010 two days after Ash Wednesday! There are cards in each pew. Today, you can sign up for one or more options: - Prayer - Work construction - Food/drink donation - Delivery/serve lunches - Contribute funds for food/postage - Work on a telephone committee During the phonothon (dates to be announced), volunteers will be assigned work times.
