3 29 MAY (Monday): MEMORIAL DAY Memorial Day, originally called Decoration Day, is a day of remembrance for those who have died in our nation s service. There are many stories as to its actual beginnings, with over two dozen cities and towns laying claim to being the birthplace of Memorial Day. There is also evidence that organized women s groups in the South were decorating graves before the end of the Civil War. Memorial Day was officially proclaimed on 05 May 1868 by General John Logan, national commander of the Grand Army of the Republic, and was first observed on 30 May 1868, when flowers were placed on the graves of Union and Confederate soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery. FATHER S DAY CARDS Father s Day is June 18th! What could be a better gift to your father, husband, father-in-law, grandfather, godfather, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, son, or friend then to be remembered in a novena of Masses in observance of Father s Day at the Church of the Nativity? Father s Day Cards are available at the entrances to the church. Put the name(s) of your loved ones who are fathers, living or deceased, on the larger envelope and return it to the parish office or put it into the collection. Send the card to your favorite father. These names will be placed on the altar during June so that they will be remembered in a novena of Masses that will be said in their honor. EUCHARISTIC ADORATION Nativity Church is open 24x7. The Blessed Sacrament is exposed for adoration and there is always someone present in prayer. Won t you join us by signing up for a weekly Holy Hour? When you sign up, you and your intentions share in the grace of everyone who comes to visit. Come and experience the dramatic presence of God in our lives. Luke 1: JUN (Thursday): SAINT JUSTIN, Martyr (c ) A pagan philosopher who converted at the age of 30 by reading the Scriptures and witnessing the faith of martyrs. Justin used his oratorical and philosophical skills to dispute with pagans and explain the faith, becoming one of the first great Christian apologists. 02 JUN (Friday): SAINTS MARCELLINUS AND PETER, Martyrs (d. 304) Marcellinus was a priest, and Peter (not to be confused with St. Peter the Apostle) was an exorcist in Rome. They were persecuted by Diocletian and martyred together. Their names are mentioned in the first Eucharistic prayer. ROSARY OUTSIDE ABORTION CLINIC Every First Saturday of the month a group of parishioners meets to pray in front of the Planned Parenthood in Redwood City on El Camino Real. We drive down after the 08:00 AM Mass and pray until about 10:00 AM. People are also scheduled to pray during the week. FATIMA CELEBRATION On Tuesday, 13 JUN 2017, we will have our next celebration of the Blessed Mother s apparition at Fatima, Portugal. Using this booklet while saying the Rosary will not only be helpful to you, but also for the world. All money will go directly to Corpus Christi Monastery.

Help us with our advertising and marketing push by advertising the carnival from your front yard or business. PRESALE: UNLIMITED RIDES WRISTBANDS AND STANDARD RIDE TICKETS Only a limited number of pre-sale wristbands remain. On June 8th all ticket prices increase and will only be available for purchase the day of, at the ticket booth, if available. Purchase early for your family and friends and save money. Purchase Order forms available in the school office and church foyer. CARNIVAL VOLUNTEERS LINK Volunteer board slots are filling up fast. We need everyone s help in participating to make our carnival as successful as it can be. Thank you for your help and participation. Volunteers are our biggest ambassadors of the carnival.
