PEOPLE OF THE COVENANT If there is one word that stands out in today's readings, it is "covenant." God's faithfulness and goodness serve as examples to us of how to live.

Never will the cleansing waters of the flood bring their destructive power to all the earth again. The sign, the reminder to both God and nature, is the rainbow in the heavens.

Our Lenten Penance Service will be Tuesday, March 13th at 7:00pm in the Church. All are welcome and encouraged to join us during this sacred time. Genesis tells the story of Noah and of God's covenant not only with all people, but with all of nature. Never will the cleansing waters of the flood bring their destructive power to all the earth again. The sign, the reminder to both God and nature, is the rainbow in the heavens. The psalm reminds us of this compassion of God, and begs God to remember us, not because of our goodness, but because of God's goodness and fidelity to the promise. God shows us how to be good, not by decree, but by example. First Sunday of Lent Help the Easter Bunny! Plastic Easter eggs and Candy are needed to fill the Easter eggs, if you d like to help the Easter Bunny out, donations can be dropped off at the Parish Office by March 20th. The Easter Bunny is also in need of help hiding the eggs for all the children. If you d like to help please contact the parish office at Catholic & Loving It Series On Monday, February 25 th at 9:00 AM and 6:30 PM Sr. Jane and Dc Ken will be offering a special Lenten edition of the Catholic and loving it Series. They will be presenting on how the Church celebrates the forgiveness and healing of Christ through the sacraments of Reconciliation and the Healing of the Sick. Please come and discover our need for and the joy of these sacraments. Join us for a presentation by Dr. Jennie Campos, MHT parishioner for 25 yrs., and hear about her work as an international development consultant in over 30 countries including those across Africa, Latin America, Asia, Eastern Europe, The Pacific, and The Caribbean. Jennie obtained her doctorate in international development from The Center for International Education, University of Massachusetts, Amherst, MA. She will talk about the organizations she s worked with and how they approach alleviating poverty, the lack of education for the girl child, and engaging citizens in the political or governance process in fragile states like Afghanistan, Kosovo and Tajikistan and in countries closer to home like Guatemala, Bolivia and several Caribbean nations. Learn from Jennie how MHT s Just Faith Program encouraged her to re-dedicate herself to working in precarious settings and how her faith continues to give her the courage to put the lives of others ahead of her own safety and security. This past week for Thanksgiving we have already distributed over 20 food boxes and have depleted the supplies of our food pantry.
