Learning Conferences: Thank you to everyone who attended the learning conferences. We thoroughly appreciate your commitment to your child's learning and to building the learning partnership. Early indications indicate that the school wide average attendance was above 90%. If you were unable to attend, your child's teacher will be in touch, to make a time for this important conversation. School Uniform: In 2016, we have relaxed the expectations around the wearing of correct PE and changing back into school uniform. This is a temporary measure only. With the lack of toilet and changing spaces and congestion with the temporary buildings, students changing in and out of PE gear was time consuming and problematic. For 2016, we are trialling allowing students to wear PE gear through the day and to travel home. All students are required to be in full uniform for assemblies and other formal occasions. Once the second toilet block is built we will reassess this.

2 Mt Maunganui Intermediate School, 21 Lodge Avenue, Mt Maunganui 3116 MORE FROM OUR PRINCIPAL - LISA MORRESEY Student Council: Student council representatives have been selected. Badges will be presented at next Friday's assembly. I apologise for the confusion around this morning's meeting. The students were so keen and eager, they turned up to meet, even though I had not confirmed the meeting time or place. We will meet next Friday at 8.15am in the library. National Standards: Over the past week I have been busy examining our national standards data in depth ready to send to the MOE. We are particularly pleased with our continued increase in achievement at all levels for all subjects, genders and ethnicites. The data clearly shows that we are improving school. But, more than that, ywe have some staggering evidence of the individual accelerated progress that we make for all of our students. Over the next few weeks we will share this data with you in more detail exploring achievement in Reading, Writing and Maths. Year Reading Writing Maths Hope to see you this afternoon at the school TRYathlon. Have a great week. Nga mihi Ms Morresey/Whaea Lisa

We are hoping to not miss anyone out. Please let Troy know by Monday so we can then put these results in next week s newsletter.
