PASTOR S PAGE FOR JUNE 2012 JUNE is the end of SPRING and the start of SUMMER. There are lots of things going on in the churches. Let us see what is happening: Sunday, June 3, is Recognition of Graduates Sunday at both churches. If your family has a member that is graduating from high school or college, please let Pastor Mark know about him or her. Grads, we d love to hear directly from you during the service about your plans. Thank you. Again, congratulations to all our grads! Monday, June 4, Christ Church Consistory will be held at 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 7, Salem Consistory will be held at 8:00 p.m. Saturday, June 9, Pastor Mark is performing a wedding service at the Matamoras Community Church near Halifax for Amber Miller and Jared Corsnitz. Sunday, June 10, is Communion Sunday at Salem Church. Please prepare yourselves to receive the Holy Sacrament. Sunday, June 10 through Thursday, June 14, is Vacation Bible School at Salem Church. The theme is: Gospel Light s SONRISE NATIONAL PARK VBS. Registration begins on Sunday at 5:30 p.m. The program runs from 6:00 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. daily. WE STILL NEED LOTS OF HELP! Please volunteer. Please pre-register if possible so that we have an idea of how much materials to order. Thanks! Also, please bring a T-shirt in your child s size. We will apply an iron-on with our VBS theme. 1

2 Friday, June 15, is the deadline for the July LIFELINE. Please have all your materials to Rose Novinger by this date. Friday, June 15 through Saturday, June 16, the Tri-Valley area will hold its annual RELAY FOR LIFE. It will be held from 3:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at the Tri-Valley High School. The theme is Tri-Valley Has Talent! Sunday, June 17, is Father s Day. This is the day that we celebrate good old Dad and all the things he does for his family! Salem Church and Christ Church will have pens for all the fellows. Christ Church will honor its Man of the Year on this Sunday. Also, we are celebrating the baptism of Penny Rose Galloway at Salem Church! Congratulations to the whole family! Friday, June 22 to Sunday, June 24, Pastor Mark will be on vacation. His daughter, Joy Rothermel, is getting married to Zachary Kahler on Saturday, June 23. Pastor Bill Danis, , will take care of any emergencies in the parish during this time. Sunday, June 24, is the Fourth Sunday after Pentecost. Ron Reitz will preach at both churches. Christ Church will have its Coffee and Donuts fellowship time between church and Sunday School. This is the last time for Coffee and Donuts until September. The Pitman Community Planning Meeting will take place at the grove at 6:00 p.m. Each church should have a representative from the Consistory and from the Sunday School. Congratulations to you, Emma! CROP WALK REPORT: The Tri-Valley Area Crop Walk had over 30 walkers and raised over $800. Tina and Laura Novinger raised $135. THANKS to our walkers and supporters! THANK YOU To the Salem Church Family- Thanks to all of you for your prayers. Special Thanks to Pastor Mark for prayers and visits. It means so much at this time. Randall has shown some improvement but he still has a long way to go. Please keep us in your prayers. Thank you all so very very much. God Bless and keep you all.
