With the holidays behind us I want to take a moment to thank you for your dedication to Cellini Lodge. As President, you re only as good as your lodge and its members. I am proud of the officers and members of this lodge. I raise a glass to 2016, may this be a progressive and fruitful year for Cellini and all of you and your families. December 13 th was our Children s Christmas party. Thank you to Amanda Mulea for all the hard work and dedication she puts into this event. It was a wonderful success. It was so nice to see so many members and their families. The children had a great time and were all excited about our visit from Santa. Although the day started out stressful regarding some location issues, in true Cellini form we all came together and had a wonderful time. December 20 th was our lodge Christmas party. Thanks to Joann Grossman and her committee for putting this together. I was so happy that she was able to bring us back to the Immaculate Conception Center. We all had a wonderful time and I can t think of a better way to bring on the holidays than with my Cellini Family. January 15 is Pasta Night in honor of three wonderful charities. Please come and support the hard work of Tony Milazzo and his committee. This year we are excited to have Lee Alverson entertain us. I am sure it will be a wonderful evening. Thanks Tony! I am happy to announce that we will be bringing back our Carnevale night, thanks to Jean Gagliardo. Carnevale will be held on Thursday, February 11 th at Marcus Christ Hall. Please make every effort to attend, I am sure it will be a wonderful night. Our Membership Drive will being this month. Remember to sign up a new member for 2016, and you will have an opportunity to get free membership for For each member you sponsor in 2016 your name is placed into a box. At the December 2016 meeting, we will pull out a name and that member will get free dues for them self for Bring in one member get one chance to win, bring in two members get two chances to win, and so on! Also remember, to mark your calendar for our annual Scholarship Dinner Dance on Sunday, April 3 rd,, 2016 at 6:30 PM, at the Chateau Briand in Westbury. This year is a very special year and I hope that all Cellini Members will be there. Please speak with Gina Ferrara and make your reservation today! April 3rd, 2016 is our Scholarship Dinner Dance JOSEPH SCIAME PROMOTED AS COMMENDATORE IN ORDERS OF MERIT Cellini Lodge #2206 Past President and Charter member since 1968 of the Order Sons of Italy in America, and a National/State Past President, was promoted in rank in the Orders of Merit of the House of Savoy by Prince Victor Emmanuel as Commendatore in the Order of SS Maurizio e Lazzaro, on Saturday, December 12, 2015 at the prestigious Metropolitan Club of New York City. Mr. Sciame was the Chair of the weekend activities which included the Welcoming Reception on Friday before, and the 307 person attended Reception and Gala Dinner, and then concluding with the Mass at the Cathedral of St. Patrick, celebrated by His Eminence and Grand Cross of the same Order of Savoy, Timothy Cardinal Dolan. In his own words at the promotion ceremony, Mr. Sciame stated: "I am proud of such an honor and proud to have had grandparents who lived at the time of the Savoy family ruling in Italy, and one maternal grandparent who served in the military at that time."
