If you know anyone who is in need of a blanket please call the parish office. If anyone would like to donate yarn for our projects, please bring it to the office. Look for our table at the Ministry Fair on November 11 & 12. Reflections First Reading: Wisdom 6:12-16 Here is an exhortation to seek wisdom, especially because of her divine origin. This allows one who keeps vigil to be free from care. Second Reading: I Thessalonians 4:13-18 or Paul offers a description of the end of time which is full of hope. All those who have died in Christ shall always be with the Lord. Gospel: Matthew 25:1-13 Scripture scholars say that we cannot reconstruct the matrimonial situation described here. The parable uses numptials as a vehicle to describe the relationship between God and His people. The oil stands for good works. We best not urn out or we ll be in trouble on Judgement Day. The Rosary is prayed after the 9AM Mass on Mondays. All are welcome! Please join us! A Parishioner is... one who belongs to the Parish Family. As such, she/he is formally registered with us and is committed to the Parish through participation in the life of the Parish Community spiritually, socially and financially. If you have not formally registered as a Parishioner, please do so at the Parish Office. We will not be able to issue Sponsor Certificates or Letters of Eligibility if you are not a registered participating member of the Parish. Night of Comedy The Knights of Columbus present a Night of Comedy in the Parish Hall, on Saturday, November 18th. Come and have 90 minutes of fun entertainment with your fellow parishioners. Show time is 7:30PM. Tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door. Coffee and dessert will be served after the show. FORMED Enjoy a free subscription to formed.org. Go to STUDY and watch Forgiven episode 1. It is about reconciliation and is excellent. There are also movies and things for children on the site. Turkey Time Holiday times are fast approaching and the social concerns committee will again be collecting turkeys we are asking our family of parishioners to please donate a turkey this year. The need is very great. We are also asking the School of Religion children to bring in the fixings to complete the dinner. Some of the turkeys will go to Joshua House, a food pantry in Farmingdale and the rest will be distributed to our needy families in Monmouth and Ocean Counties. If you are in need of a Thanksgiving basket, please contact the parish office. We will be collecting and distributing the baskets on the weekend of November 18th, 4:00 to 5:00PM and November 19th, 8:00 to 11:45AM. Thank you for your continued generosity. 5 November 12, 2017 Page 5 #566 It s that time of year again! The Social Concerns Committee will be putting up giving trees on Saturday, November 18th. We will have two trees once again. One tree will be to assist our local families in need. In addition to their wish list, we are collecting gift cards. We will get the gift cards to them early in December so the families will have time to shop for Christmas. The gift cards needed are Walmart, Target, Visa, American Express, ShopRite, movies, and restaurants. Please return UNWRAPPED gifts and gift cards by December 2nd. The Second giving tree will be for the Seniors at our local nursing home. Please take a tag and return the WRAPPED gift with the tag attached by December 2nd. Thank you for your continued generosity.
