5 The Youth Group Pumpkin Patch is now open!! 10:30am-dusk Monday-Friday 9:30am-dusk Saturday and Sunday If you would like to help Youth Group members patch sit, there are 3 time slots. Sign-up sheet is on the table near the door to the Ministry Center or call the office. Proceeds from the Patch allow our young people to attend different events throughout the year such as the Steubenville High School Youth Conference in Orlando and the National Catholic Youth Conference in Washington DC next fall. 6 The 15th Ordinary General Assembly of the Synod of Bishops is meeting with Pope Francis at the Vatican October 3-28, 2018 The topic: Young People, the Faith and Vocational Discernment Prayer for the Synod: Lord Jesus, in journeying towards the Synod, your Church turns her attention to all the young people of the world. We pray that they might boldly take charge of their lives, aim for the most beautiful and profound things of life and always keep their hearts unencumbered. Accompanied by wise and generous guides, help them respond to the call you make to each of them, to realize a proper plan of life and achieve happiness. Keep their hearts open to dreaming great dreams and make them concerned for the good of others. May they be witnesses to your Resurrection and be aware that you are at their side as they joyously proclaim you as Lord. Amen. (Pope Francis) October is CCD enrollment month! CCD begins Sunday, December 2.Registration forms are on our website or on the table by the entrance to the Ministry Center. 7 There will be a Virtus (Protecting God s Children) session given by Linda Luizza on Saturday, October 20th at 10am in the Ministry Center. This is a mandatory class for all who are not currently compliant with the Virtus program parish staff, volunteers working with youth or vulnerable adults, CCD teachers, Eucharistic Ministers for the home bound, Youth Group volunteers, ministries working with youth and Food Bank volunteers. If you are in doubt as to whether you are required to attend, please check with Nancy McCrosson. Fr.Jets would like to extend an invitation to all parish members to attend this informative session. There will be a separate sign up sheet for those not required to be fingerprinted or to continue with online bulletin readings for training. This very informative session will teach you about the warning signs of sexual abuse and how you can prevent it from happening in your church, home, neighborhood, community, and school. Sexual child abuse is a very real problem. Will you know how to recognize the warning signs in your own children? How about your neighbor s children? This DVD presentation also addresses the Internet and how sexual predators are now hiding in chatrooms instead of behind park trees. Hail, Mother of the Lord, Virgin Mary, Queen of the Rosary of Fatima! Blessed among all women, you are the image of the Church dressed in the Paschal Light, you are the honor of our people, you are the triumph over the mark of evil. Prophecy of the merciful Love of the Father, Teacher of the Annunciation of the Good News of the Son, Sign of the burning Fire of the Holy Spirit, teach us, in this valley of joys and sorrows, the eternal truths that the Father reveals to the little ones. Show us the strength of your mantle of protection. In your Immaculate Heart, be the refuge of sinners and the way that leads to God. In unity with our brothers and sisters, in Faith, Hope, and Love, we surrender ourselves to you. In unity with all our brothers and sisters, through you, we give thanks to Almighty God for these 60 years and we consecrate the Archdiocese of Miami to God, O Virgin of the Rosary; and thus surrounded by the Light that comes from your hands, we will give glory to the Lord forever and ever. Amen

Jets will accompany Roberta and Ginny to the Cathedral of St. Mary in Miami, where Archbishop Thomas G. Wenski will honor them in a Solemn Vespers and Conferral of Diocesan Honors ceremony for their love, service and dedication in their ministries here at St. Peters and beyond.
