1 Dayspring Walk to Emmaus Chatter Matters March Spring Walks Are Almost Here! The teams are trained, the Pilgrims are ready, and the calendar is moving on toward the Spring Walks. Keep all aspects of the Walks in your daily prayers. Table and baked agape are always needed and appreciated for both Walks. We look forward to seeing all of you at the Community events at the Campground. May the Pilgrims see Jesus in each of us. 2 Lay Director, Men's Walk #90 Whew! I guess I'll start by thanking the Dayspring Community for blessing me with the opportunity to lead Walk #90. I'll be forever grateful to this community for a chance to lead something that in itself has had such an impact on my life personally. Thinking about the Walk to come and the opportunity to serve a group of pilgrims is exciting! It is especially exciting when I consider how my personal walk experience was redirected and my relationship with my loving Father took flight after my Walk to Emmaus. The Send Off Song "Behold What Manner of Love" For the Women... I would also like to report that the formation of our team has been spectacular with the Holy Spirit. The team has grown really close through the processes of team formation and meeting times which should lead to a team that is focused and ready to do the Lord's work. Also, a BIG "thank you" for the prayers that have been said and the ones to come for Walk #90. They have been felt and appreciated. "Behold what manner of DeColores, Neal Anderson given unto us. (1 Thessalonians 5:16 18) I find myself referring to this verse often. I am thankful for my Emmaus family and the opportunity to serve as Lay Director for Walk #91. I rejoice that God has allowed me to work with many Dayspring Ladies Walks, Chrysalis, and Journey flights. I am so thankful for each time. God always blesses me with new friends as He blesses all of us by adding new Community members to Dayspring. I rejoice that God has led me through these times.

If your church is willing to host a monthly Gathering this year, please contact Mrs. Annette Smith, our Gatherings Coordinator at : AnnetteMSmith512@aol.com (912) Home (912) Cell The PIO Party Gathering following the Walks will be held at Tattnall Campground on Friday night, March 27, 2015 at 7:00 p.m. ********************************************************** "Pilgrim's Progress" By Gary McCorkle Dayspring Walk to Emmaus #56 Table of Peter To say I had no idea about Emmaus before 2005 was probably not true; I just didn't think I needed it until I went... To say that the Walk to Emmaus was life changing for me is an understatement. I enjoyed the fellowship, worship, praise, rhythm, singing, sharing, praying, eating, listening, and loving that went on during the cloistered weekend. Charles Deal's son in law, Buddy Morgan was the leader at my table. (Isn't it funny how God worked that out since Charles first encouraged me to go)? Chuck Lee of my church went on the same Walk I did and we became closer friends. His wife and my wife also went on to enjoy the same shared experience. Everything on the Walk was phenomenal. But Sunday when the servants lined the kitchen walls and Lay Director Bruce Yawn told of the fees they had paid just to serve me I was a broken, sobbing man. I liken my Walk experience as getting relit with the fire of the Holy Spirit that surrounds Emmaus. Like Bro. Don Proctor, who married Judy and me 37 years ago, always says: "I am not retired, I am re fired

5 by the Holy Spirit flame." Since Emmaus, I almost have a thirst to serve God excitedly and overwhelmingly. It reminds me of the image of a parched, thirsty man getting a drink of water from an open fire hose he sticks his face into it and gets overwhelmed by the power of the flow. Gasping for breath and regaining his composure, he comes back for another drink. I think Emmaus just overwhelms us with the flow of God's love and we always come back for more. After Emmaus events I tend to notice God's creation more the blueness of the sky, the leaves' bright colors, the sound of birds chirping, laughter of children, and I even manage to smile a few times at my boss. I have worked numerous Walks and was the Lay Director for Walk #84. I encourage my circle of friends, coworkers, Sunday school class, and church members to get lit by the fire that flows through Emmaus. Typically, you will see me bring food, attend Send Off, attend Candlelight, and sign up to support the Prayer Vigil during an Emmaus weekend. My family is involved in Emmaus, and that is a Pilgrim's Progress I am most proud of. My daughter, son in law, and other family members have been through the Walk. My daughter has even given Talks during Women's weekends. Since Emmaus, God inspired me about 8 years ago to start putting some thoughts down into the form of a weekly letter called "Gary's Devotionals." What started with around 45 people has grown to an listing of over 300. A lot of them are forwarded and re forwarded into cyberspace. By last count they were traveling from Kentucky to Florida on various social media. I still do a lot of the things to serve in my church and community, but also now help with a soup kitchen at our church. I respond to texted prayer chains from people I now love in a deeper more special way. All of this helps the cause of Christ. People are anxious to follow a cause they can believe in, one the terroristic world exploits to its advantage. Like Billy Graham once said, "Our cause is Christ, and Him crucified." To me, there needs to be a sense of urgency about those of us that have been a Pilgrim to take a stand for Jesus Christ in today's confusing world. Emmaus gives us the tools to do that (That is what a true "Pilgrim on a journey" is all about). Staying close to Emmaus binds us into a cord that is not easily broken. As Hubert Reeves said one early Saturday during training "Emmaus is where I want to be." I may have once had my finger on the pulse of life, but Emmaus has helped God truly restart my "heart" for Him. To me, heaven will look a lot like Emmaus fellowshipping with each other in love and worshipping God totally. James 4:8 says "Draw closer to God and He will draw closer to you."
