As inside team members prepare talks, PowerPoint presentations and becoming one in spirit, please PRAY! As members of the Hands and Feet team prepare their hearts for the walks and what God has planned, please PRAY! Whatever roll you prepare for in this vast conspiracy of grace whether it is providing table agape, snack agape or prayer agape, whether you plan on spending the day or the entire weekend at the walk, please PRAY PRAY PRAY! The walks depend on PRAYER. You will be blessed! The February board meeting and gathering will be held on February 7 th at Sulphur UMC. This is the first Saturday of the month instead of the second Saturday. So please mark your calendars accordingly. We hope to see you there! I believe wholeheartedly in the walk to Emmaus. I'm living proof of a life changed by this walk! I believe churches can be changed and empowered by the walk to Emmaus. By and through prayer we as a community can extend the walk to our sister churches and change numerous lives. The actual Prayer Vigil sheets for the men s and women s walks will be at the next Gathering in Sulphur, this coming Saturday, February 7th.

Did you know, or realize, the line you signed or should have signed on your volunteer application stated that you as a team member agreed to the 4 inside team trainings and 72 hour Walk as conference room team and the Hands and Feet training as outside team and the allimportant commissioning?! When filling out the volunteer application for the walks, the board wants to know that you are serious in your commitment to the trainings and the walk itself. We realize emergencies happen and those cannot be helped, but as far as committing to trainings it is of GREAT importance that you don t blow off trainings just because. I know we are all busy, BUT this is what you signed up for and the Lay Directors should have explained that as I know they all do. Hands and Feet team members, have you worked a hundred times in the area you have been called for? Have you never worked a walk before? Great! We need ALL hands and feet team members at the Hands and Feet Training whether it is NOTE: IT IS THE FIRST SATURDAY THIS MONTH WHEN: Saturday - February 7th WHERE: Sulphur United Methodist Church th St. Sulphur, OK TIME: 6:00 - Potluck Fellowship 6:45ish Praise & Worship This particular gathering will be quite special and quite full as it is a day of training for the inside teams of the Men s and Ladies walks, as well as the monthly board meeting. When the rest of the Emmaus community shows up for dinner - it adds a joy unspeakable! Momentum that began with the uniting of the few explodes into a fullness of God s flavor when the rest of the community joins together for fellowship, praise and worship. God is there! MARK YOUR CALENDAR! your first walk to work or the 97 th and the 98 th. Things change and everyone needs to be aware of those changes. See you there! De Colores! Davis

Please send pilgrim applications to Katie at 1413 Healdton Blvd, Ardmore, OK You can also call or text (580) with any questions you may have. Katie and her husband Shawn have been a member of the Emmaus community since A board member since 2013, Katie will finish her last year on the board as registrar replacing Clinta Taylor. Clinta did a fabulous job and Katie feels like she has a lot to live up to in her new position. Katie was previously in charge of snack agape which is now being led by Candy Sherbert. Please be praying for the upcoming walks and the pilgrims that you will be sponsoring. Being a sponsor is not something to take lightly. As awesome as the walks are, pilgrim's will enjoy even greater blessings if they have committed sponsors. You will find pilgrim applications at crosspointemmaus.org. There are no deadlines, but the past has proven that the sooner you get the application in, the better the chance that your pilgrim will be a place on the upcoming walk. Then the work of transferring materials and information began. Amy s position of Literature transferred to her husband Gary; and Amy brightly chirped the literature gets to stay in the same closet! Amy, as new Assistant Lay Director, visited with Donna Young, and was given materials of the job. Katie Byrne, a current board member, had learned Clinta s job as registrar and decided to take that now available position, leaving her Kitchen/Snack Agape position open. New board member, Candy Sherbert, accepted the position. Everyone thought that Candy and snacks went well together! Sharri Hiller s position as Community Lay Director was passed to Karin Nuner, who gladly accepted Karin vacated her secretary position and Lisa Gipson, new board member, accepted that position, and began on the job training that the board meeting. Steve Russell s vacated position of 4th day passed on to new board member, Rondy Hunt, who was not present. Steve & Rondy will train. A

4 Vol XXVI1, Number 2 Crosspoint Emmaus Newsletter February 2015 Page 4 The Cross Point Emmaus board met on January 10 th to welcome in with joy the new board members Candy Sherbert, Rondy Hunt, Lisa Gipson, Gary Heller and Jeff Hiller and to say a grateful thank you to those who served so unselfishly these past three years. Sharri Hiller, Steve Russell, Clinta Taylor and Donna Young, thank you all so much for your service to the Cross Point Emmaus community. Shawn Harkins gave the devotional, joys and concerns were lifted up and Pastor Brad Houchin prayed for the needs of the community. Tem gave his Treasurers report via , those notes were read over and the treasurer s report was approved. Nominations were taken from the floor and after the Chair had canvassed the voting the following members were elected to the offices below for the 2015 year. So he went in to stay with them. 30 When he was at the table with them, he took bread, gave thanks, broke it and began to give it to them. 31 Then their eyes were opened and they recognized him, and he disappeared from their sight. 32 They asked each other, Were not our hearts burning within us while he talked with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?
