2 WELCOME persons into the body of Christ Welcome New Member Nona Burns Welcome New Members Wayne and Diane Hadley Devin and Alexis King k4c "May Days" Kids 4 Christ went off campus for a bowling May Day on May 13th. We (28 kids and 8 adults) enjoyed a hot dog snack while we bowled. Movie with Munchy Popcorn and Games Galore finished out our k4c year. A Big Thank You The Kids 4 Christ ministry would like to thank Abby, Anna & Camryn Gantt, Megan Johnson, Adam Wilson, Elizabeth Branton, Cole Yoder, Chase Boston and Damion Setzer for giving up their Wednesday afternoons to help out with K4C. Lynn Delancey, Pat Britt, Tracy Wilson and Karen Arndt made sure we had snacks and lemonade each week as well as helping us with our homework. Harris & Vickey Jones, Paul Campbell and Phyllis Watson have been so nice to drive the church van for the school pickups. As you can see it takes a lot of helping hands to put on this wonderful children's ministry. We had a great year learning and presenting our music, making and sending cards to our shut-ins, all while building relationships with our friends in Christ. Blessings and thanks to you all. Please mark your calendars for VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL Sunday, August 2nd through Thursday, August 6th G- FORCE where kids (of all ages) explore putting their faith into action!

4 SEND them to serve in the world Peanut Butter and Jelly Sundays Bring a new, plastic container of peanut butter or jelly for Conover School! On the first Sunday of every month, First UMC will celebrate PB & J Sunday, a day designated for everyone to bring either a plastic container of peanut butter or a plastic container of jelly. These gifts will be given each month to the students at Conover. School. Church Nursery Assistance Needed Happily our church family is growing and the church nursery can use some extra help during the 9am Praise Worship time. If you are interested in assisting, please contact Julie at julieb.fowler@gmail.com or call the church office. You must be at least a rising 8th grader to assist in nursery. You will have a great time with our little ones! A big Thank You to Jamie Pawlik for repairing the columns at the front of the church. The attention to detail in his craftsmanship is very much appreciated. With gratitude and thanks! As I have stepped down from the position of Musical Director, it is with so many great memories that I am able to take with me. Those wonderful memories would not have been possible without the incredible leadership and support team that our church is so lucky to have. It also would not have been possible without a Chancel Choir that is so dedicated and talented and truly loves giving of their time and abilities to serve you, the congregation, as they lead you in the musical portion of worship. They take their job so seriously and are dedicated to make sure that their proud tradition carries on with their next director. As we wake each morning, the good Lord gives us so much energy to get through each day. With the changes in my professional life and the new demands it has presented, I no longer have the energy and time to give to each job to perform the duties successfully. It has become apparent that in order to keep my performance at the job that pays the bills at the level required I would need to cut back in other areas. But with this note, I most of all want to say THANKS to you, the congregation, that opened your arms to me and my family and gave the choir your full support by your attendance at our special programs and your kind words each Sunday as you acknowledged their efforts from the choir loft. With the church s leadership, and your support, the choir was able to grow both in numbers and musical abilities knowing of your continued love and appreciation for them. FUMC Newton is my family s home church, and our attendance will remain regular; however, it will most likely be at the 9:00 service jamming out with the awesome praise band. But don t be surprised one day to see another bass in the choir loft looking out to see your smiling faces. Our pastors have charged each of us with a task, and I congratulate each of you for doing it so well.. You LOVED ME IN Brent

5 firs you h Celebrating Confirmation Our 10 confirmands, their faith friends, some parents, and many of our youth joined in for an afternoon of bowling fun at Pin Station May 3rd. We were loud and proud sharing laughter and support for one another.
