5 Introduction This directory is a list of participating providers and facilities use it to find those participating on your SelectHealth plan. You can also determine whether a provider is a Primary Care Provider (PCP), a Secondary Care Provider (SCP), or an ancillary provider. Search the online directory at selecthealth.org/findadoctor. HOW TO READ THIS DIRECTORY Section Headings Each large, bold heading indicates the general category of providers in that section. For example: Primary Care Physicians (PCPs), Secondary Care Physicians (SCPs), and Ancillary Providers. Detailed Information Providers are sorted by county, specialty, and provider last name under each section heading. PRIMARY CARE PROVIDER/PHYSICIAN A Primary Care Provider (PCP) is a doctor who sees patients for common medical problems, performs routine exams, and helps prevent or treat illness. We recommend you choose a PCP. Seeing the same doctor for most visits will help you establish a relationship that can improve your healthcare. The providers and their physician s assistants and nurse practitioners who are considered PCPs are: > > Family Practitioners > > General Practitioners > > Internal Medicine Doctors > > Obstetricians and Gynecologists (OB/GYN) > > Pediatricians PCPs are typically available by phone 24 hours a day, seven days a week for urgent and emergency medical situations. SECONDARY CARE PROVIDER/PHYSICIAN Any doctor who is not considered a PCP is an SCP. ANCILLARY PROVIDERS An ancillary provider is not a physician but has credentials to work as a clinician. These caregivers may provide primary, secondary, or ancillary care. This type of provider includes physical therapists, licensed clinical social workers, audiologists, and more. The ancillary provider section of this directory indicates whether an ancillary provider is classified as a PCP or an SCP. MENTAL HEALTH PROVIDERS Mental health providers are psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers who provide counseling. You don t need a referral to see a mental health provider. Network Transparency We regularly monitor the practice location of providers contracted on our networks against where our members live and work to ensure that members have primary care physicians, behavioral health physicians, specialty physicians, and hospitals within reasonable traveling distance. We evaluate these providers based on member complaints, member experience, clinical quality measures, and appropriate use of healthcare resources. These ratings are based on the treatment a clinic delivers and results from an annual member satisfaction survey. Ratings are not available for all clinics. Clinics must have 30 or more completed surveys for their results to appear. To find these ratings, use our online provider search. Search for a family medicine, internal medicine, or pediatric provider and click on Satisfaction and Quality Ratings in the doctor s profile. If a ratings link does not appear, data is not available for that provider.
