5 From the Master in the East Worshipful Armand B. Ballesil FROM THE EAST Greetings Brethren, Last month's hype is over, the Installation Ceremony, Christmas and New Year's Eve. Reminiscing though, gave me a feeling of euphoria, Thanks to all of you, my brothers, including your family and friends, who came to grace us with their presence. I will cherish these events for the rest of my life. Now that the dust settled down, together with the new line of officers will start to gear up for the challenges ahead of us. As your new Master of the Lodge, one of my primary duty is to make sure that "business as usual" will continue I must say that there will be no big changes, only minor, "cosmetics"as you might say. I would like to encourage everyone to continue to work on our gains and learn from what works and what does not work. For the month of January, we will have our regular Stated Meeting on the 5th. The new Junior Warden will surprise us with his fresh ideas, for he says, he is full of...surprises. A double 2nd degree on the 12th and a 3rd degree on the 26th are on the Calendar of our Lodge events. I would like to invite every Brother to come and see how the new line of officers perform and kindly encourage them to push it to the apex. Help us in our endeavors. It may not benefit us but surely will benefit humankind. For, you decided to be a Mason, what came you here to do? Upon the Square, Armand Ballesil Worshipful Master Naval Lodge #87

6 From the Senior in the West The Sun in the West First of all, I would first like to start off by saying Thank You my brothers for showing your confidence in my ability to perform the responsibilities of the Senior Warden. I can only say, I will give you my best effort. As we approach the holidays and the end of the year, I extend my warmest wishes for a Happy Holiday season to you and your family. I wish you much joy, a Happy and a prosperous New Year to come!!!! I hope everyone that attended our Installation of Officers for the ensuing year, found the event more enjoyable. Our new Master, WB. Armand, made an admirable celebration. A lot of preparation, planning, effort and etc. Even though we had help of our brethren we still need some assistance. This is called Brotherly Love. I find it surprising that you can be both sad and happy at the same time. I worry a lot if you notice, especially if I cannot make someone happy. Honestly, most of the time I considered myself happy, that finally my responsibility at our Lodge (in the kitchen) is almost done. What I would like to say is, I believe I haven't offended anybody during my short term. NOT to my knowledge any way. I have a great intentions and that I hope, I did my best and hopefully I can still extend my Cable Tow if the time come. It is with respect and mixed emotions that, I take this opportunity to express my sincere appreciation to all Brethren who answer my calls when I needed you. I have learned a great deal from you, I don t need to mention your names but you know who I am referring to. Thank you my Brothers... From the Junior in the South As the Sun at Meridian Height Congratulations to the new officers for Brethren, many thanks for your vote of confidence electing me to be your Junior Warden. It s a big responsibility and I will do my best to live up to my promise that the kitchen will be rockin in We should be able to do this with the active participation from our brethren. I ve solicited the assistance of the Past Masters to join the kitchen crew and in January, we are honored to have PM Wattles as the first volunteer. I have the crew picked to assist in the kitchen duty along with the Stewards who will prepare the January stated meal. 9 Notes From the Editor Dear Brethren, I want to start by congratulating the Officers of 2017 on an excellent Installation ceremony and celebration. A special thank you to our new Worshipful Master Ballisel on providing the means for the festivities. Also, a special thanks to all friends and family who attended and shared this important day with all of us. Brothers I am excited to have been made Chaplain of Naval Lodge No. 87. I am honored, and I know I have big shoes to fill in this office. I can only hope that I will be a fraction of the Chaplain that Brother Jerry Bettman, PM was, I have a lot to learn. I am also honored to have been made Mason of the Year. Thank you brothers for this great honor and for celebrating my efforts for our lodge. I do not see this honor as meaning that I am done with putting effort into my lodge, the opposite actually. With this new year I promise to continue working hard to support our lodge, and I hope others will be inspired to do what they can.
