5 Thanks from the Church Staff Page 5 Thank You Office Volunteers There is no I in team! And what a team they are Joyce Cox, Barbara Morrison, Judi Standley and Ginger Taylor. The office staff has been blessed with their smiles and giggles, their caring and concern, and their consistent group effort to help out in the office. This is the group of ladies those of you who receive a mailed copy of The Witness need to thank. They are at the church every other week collating, stapling, folding, taping, labeling, and stamping. What a blessing each of them is! They also take turns covering the front office on Mondays while the church staff has their weekly meetings. We are grateful for their presence and blessed by their friendship. Thank you Mark Spaulding A very big thank you to Mark Spaulding for the many hours of work, repairs and research he has provided on the staff computers and the church website. The staff is surprised he still takes their calls! Thank you Mark for the can do attitude and for never giving up. Thank you Allen Miner Have you ever met someone who just knows how to fix things? I mean everything? Allen Miner has consistently and repeatedly been our go-to man. We usually save the hard things for him or else we would be calling on him all the time. For years now Allen has helped repair and fix probably every interior door lock in our building: taking them apart; putting them back together; and possibly on a few occasions hand making parts for them. And every single time he accepts the challenge with a smile (or at least he does in our presence). Thank you, Allen, for always being there for us! Thank you Beverly & Christy Beverly Lenoir and Christy King said yes. And we are so thankful they did. They organized the Southfork Christmas this year and did a wonderful job! With that said there would not have been anything for them to organize and distribute without the generosity of Wylie UMC. We are continually humbled and amazed by the kindness and compassion the people of Wylie UMC exhibit not only at Christmas but all year long.

6 Thank You from our Preschool & Children s Program Page 6 Learning Academy Preschool L.A.P. is so grateful for your time, your talents, your presence, your gifts, and your witness. We love being associated with such a supportive church family and want that known! Thank you for your time as you have served on the LAP Council, attended programs, and stopped in the halls to let our line of bubbles and tails go first. Thanks to James Heard who has been checking smoke and carbon monoxide detectors each month. Thanks to Roy Harrington and Phil Hoy who have made the lights shine brighter in the preschool wing. We appreciate the very talented Ben Brown, Driggers family, and Dan Smith who have worked the sound booth for preschool programs. What a huge difference your skills make in keeping lights, screens, and microphones functioning properly so the teaching staff can concentrate on petrified or escaping performers. LAP gives many thanks to Bob London for his presence whenever it was needed. He recruited Greg Johannsen to help with stage prep, mowed before outdoor events, painted the playground posts, spot cleaned carpets, worked on the furnishings for room 213 with Henry Luman, moved gravel more than once, helped paint in the preschool wing, assembled a fleet of Cozy Coupes, and lots more. LAP could not offer scholarships without the help of the gifts offered by this congregation. Our anonymous donors and rail offerings keep children attending when tough times hit their families. LAP thanks you for the help you give. Many names do not appear here of others who have helped but all are appreciated. Thank you all for your witness and spreading the Word and knowing how important it is to guide these littlest babes into their love of Jesus. Thank you for telling our community that you believe in this church and this preschool. LAP is blessed by each of you! Happy New Year! Children s Ministry Each Sunday Morning your children are met by a group of amazing adults who lead them in learning about Christ. The Children's Ministry of Wylie UMC would like to THANK the following folks for their time, energy and dedication to our children!
