Submissions need to be turned in to the parish office no later than the 25th of each month. (Due date is the 15th in Dec.) Call the parish office or send via . The Financial Future of St. Mary s The financial standing of St. Mary s has deteriorated over the past year resulting in spending down our Hilliard Lyons account to meet expenses. This is not sustainable. However, there is still time to turn our situation around. We are cutting expenses to the bone, but your help is also needed. The Vestry and the Finance Committee strongly encourage everyone to attend one of the cottage meetings listed below to learn more about the status of our finances, answer your questions, and develop a path toward a more stable future. 2 Episcopal Church Women The ECW will resume their regular meeting schedule this month on Wed., April 20th at 6 pm with Eucharist at 5:30. We hope you can join us. Peace Gertrude Whitmer LUNCH BUNCH / BOOK CLUB The Lunch Bunch will meet on Wed., April 6 at Applebee s 11:30 am. This month s meeting will be a little different as we will be joined by members of the finance committee to discuss St. Mary s financial future. (see front page for details). The Book Club will meet afterward. The book for April is: The Readers of Broken Wheel Recommend by Katarina Bivald. If you are looking for an opportunity to get involved in something new, drop in and join in. Daughters of the King The DoK will meet this month on Wed., April 6th at 6:00 pm. If you have any questions, contact Paula Crowley. (Info on front page) NAMI Support Group The next NAMI Meeting will be on Thursday, April 7th from 6-7:30 pm. NAMI is the National Alliance on Mental Illness; a support group for family members of those suffering from mental illness. Holy Week Attendance Maundy Thursday 31 The Great Vigil 21 Good Friday (Noon) 28 5:30 pm 12 EASTER 98 Centennial Planning Committee The Centennial Planning Committee has decided to change their meetings to after services on Sundays twice per month. When doing so out of necessity during Lent, they realized there seemed to be more folks participating as they were already here etc. So the meetings in April will be on the Sundays of the 10th and 24th. The Peace Festival is coming up next month, May 14th and the committee is in need of current addresses of folks that have ever been associated with the church that we may not have. They would like to send them an invitation to the homecoming. The contact person for this is Paula Crowley. (Her contact info is on the front page). The craft department of the CPC is in need of empty oat boxes or coffee cans. So if you could please set these aside and bring in they would be most appreciative. There will be a box located in the parish hall for collection. Page 2

Jeremiah 30:17 About the PRAYER LIST In an effort to keep our prayer list current, we will be cycling names off that have been on for 30 days or longer. Please look over the list above and if you see names missing that need to remain on, simply contact us and let us know to re-add. Thanks! We continue to support the children (in need) at Grapevine Elementary by collecting food on the second Sun. of the month. This is food they can take home for the weekend. Items such as: individual bags of chips, cracker, cookies, cheese/peanut butter crackers, etc. Items should be ready to eat and require no refrigeration or re-heating and should open easily. Thanks for your support of this ministry! A child will have something to eat because of your kindness & generosity! Coffee Hour Coffee Hour is a really special time after service for catching up with church friends and family. We have a sign up sheet in the parish hall, (Mills Hall) for parishioners to sign up for a certain date to bring in goodies for this time. These can be as simple or elaborate as you wish. Store-bought or homemade. We have dates still open for April, including this Sunday, April 3rd. If you d like to be a blessing and fill this spot just give us a call. Thanks so much! It s very important during this time that we are all on-board and supporting one another so that we may successfully carry St. Mary s vision forward into the future. 4 Easter Flower Dedications We wish to acknowledge the folks listed below with a special Thank you, in gratitude for their contributions made to the Easter flower fund. The funds received through this process help us to pay for the beautiful Easter lilies that adorn the church. God bless you for your consideration! For all our many blessings In Thanksgiving... Casserole Ministry For those who may not know the Casserole Ministry was started several years ago as part of our In-Reach Ministry - ministering to one another within our church body. The purpose is to serve as a means to quickly provide food for our church family who are sick, recovering from surgery etc.. The way it works is parishioners prepare a one dish meal in disposable kitchenware that can be frozen such as lasagna or chicken casserole. You would then attach a label listing what your dish is and basic heating instructions. Bring it to church and place in the stand up freezer by the sink. On taking inventory of our stock recently, we noticed we are running low so help is needed replenishing our supply. As always... your cooperation is much appreciated! Thank you!
