2 Page 2 From us to you... To the WRGN listening family, July 2016 Halfway! Halfway to what you ask? Halfway to the year 2017! As I write this, we are at the halfway mark for the year It is a good time to look back and forward. I m not talking about looking back wistfully at what might have been, but rather what God has done so far. Then looking forward to what He would have us do! Luke 9:62 tells us No one who puts his hand to the plow and looks back is fit for the kingdom of God. This kind of looking back is counterproductive to our work for the Kingdom. Luke 10 then lays out our calling as believers. Verse 2 says...pray earnestly to the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into his harvest. WRGN is pleased to partner with many ministries and churches in our listening area to go as laborers in the harvest, and we do our best to encourage you to join with those who are sent. Two of our staff are heading out this summer as laborers with international ministries, and I pray that their example will cause you to consider similar opportunities. Pray also for us as we continue to work in the field that God has given us, our listening area. There is much work to be done, and many who still need to hear! 3 Page 3 Here at the Studios July is an exciting month for some of our staff! Doug Hamilton will be traveling to Kenya for ten days for a missions trip with a team from Parker Hill Church through the missions o r g a n i z a t i o n B r i d g e (410bridge.org). Some of the work Doug will be doing may include digging a ditch, rehabilitating a child s home, completing a clean water project, or making bricks. During the time that Doug is away, Dan Close will join Tim Madeira on Wake Up Right. Laura Madeira will be traveling to the Czech Republic for sixteen days to teach English with a team from Fellowship Church through a missions organization c a l l e d J o s i a h Ve n t u r e (josiahventure.com) and a local church in Prague. Their team, made up of Czechs and Americans, will host an English camp for Czech youth with the goal of building relationships, connecting them with the local church, and sharing the love of Christ. WallBuilders speaker Tim Barton, son of David Barton, joined Tim and Doug on Wake Up Right to share about the upcoming In God We Trust conference, which celebrates the 60th anniversary of the adoption of our national motto. Tim Barton will be speaking in several of the conference sessions. Other speakers and guests include PA State Representative Dr. Rick Saccone, Stephen McDowell (Providence Foundation), Dr. James J.S. Johnson (Institute for Creation Research), and Debbie Wahl (Act 1 Productions). The conference is a free event for all ages. Melissa Norris, author of The Made from Scratch Life, called in from across the country to talk to Tim & Doug about the pioneer lifestyle on Wake Up Right. Her new book not only has tips, recipes and ideas, but also spiritual life applications. 5 for 5! Our 5th annual Ride for Radio and for the 5th year the weather was gorgeous!
