Myrna Fette, New Haven Living Center, Odessa. WE EXTEND OUR SYMPATHY TO: Ricky and Angie Erdman and family. Angie s mother, Marilyn Holloway, passed away. Her services were held Saturday, June 24, at Brookfield, Missouri. THANK YOU: Thank you to everyone for their prayers for my brother, Ernest Flucke, after his open heart surgery at St. Luke s Hospital (Plaza). He is now recovering at home in Wellington, MO. 5 WELCOME: Today we are privileged to have Rev. Ron Sebring as our guest minister, you may remember him from July of last year. Rev. Ron was born in Moberly, Missouri, attended seminary at the Graduate Seminary at Phillips University, Enid, Oklahoma, and received his M.Div. from San Francisco Theological Seminary in San Anselmo, California. Ordained as a Disciple minister, he served churches in Kansas, Missouri, and the Northbrae Community Church in Berkeley, California before moving back to the Kansas City area for retirement. 6 PULPIT SUPPLY: Tommy is on the Youth on Mission trip to Puerto Rico. He will be out of the office thru July 9. Next Sunday, July 9, we will have Jane Fisler Hoffman as our guest minister. If you are in need of pastoral care, please call the church office. Rev. Andy Mockridge (Blackburn-Grand Pass UCC) will be available to help while Tommy is at the Workcamp. SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL: Please join us if you are under the age of 10. We will meet in the sanctuary overflow, after the children's message. VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2017 This year s theme for Vacation Bible School is Rome, Paul and the Underground Church VBS will be July 30th August 2nd, 6-8:00 p.m. If there are any volunteers that would like to help the kids experience Rome, I have manuals for everyone. It is easy to read and explains every step. If you would like to volunteer, please call or text my cellphone (660) or you can reach me at the church (660) Registration forms for VBS are outside the church office. All children who have completed one year of preschool to 5th grade are invited to join us. 7 MOVIE IN THE PARKING LOT! Pop on over for a fun outdoor family movie night, Friday, August 11, Fun Activities begin at 8:00 PM with Showtime at 8:20 PM. All the fun will be here at Salem, 1500 Main St., Higginsville, MO. Bring your popcorn, pillow, blanket, and lawn chairs. Free drinks provided. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED: The Memorial Committee is asking for volunteers to water the flower pots at the front doors of the church. If you are interested please call Mary Homfeld, SUMMER SPECIAL MUSIC: It is time again for Summer Special Music! If you play an instrument or enjoy singing and would like to share your musical talent during the summer worship service, please call the Church Office and leave your name and phone number.
