They ve informed us that they have recently added a new program to their repertoire called Around the World in 80 Minutes. Perhaps we will see this third installment at some point in the future, but it s your input that lets us know what type of programming you would like so please don t hesitate to contact me or any elected officer with ideas for the future. Please take note of our Annual Meeting and Picnic. It will be held on Sunday, July 10th at Marilyn Rabbai s home, 32 Magnolia Ave in Pitman. Annual meetings are a great way to catch up and have some input on the business part of the Guild. It s also a good time of year to connect with old friends who you might have missed at the various programs throughout the year. And then (my favorite part), there s all the food. So, please put this date on Continued on page 8
2 P A G E 2 Sub-Dean s Report -- by David Rhody...Next year s plans are almost complete, and they promise to be exciting! Another program year has concluded and we had many highlights this year I hope you were able to take advantage of the Chapter s offerings. Our final meeting of the program year will be our annual meeting and picnic, this year at Marilyn Rabbai s home in Pitman on Sunday, July 10 (rain date July 24). (see Picnic Info on page 8) Next year s plans are almost complete, and they promise to be exciting! We open with two workshops on September 17, one with local authority Helen Carrell on organ registration followed by a conducting workshop and master class by Dr. Christopher Thomas of Rowan University. Our October Guild Service will feature compositions by our own members, including a new commissioned anthem by Evelyn Larter. Also a September 11 Remembrance Service will introduce another work commissioned by our Chapter by composer and member Dan Nelson. Nationally known guests will include David Cherwien leading a clinic, a recital by Chelsea Chen in March, and a guest artist at Haddonfield Methodist Church soon to be announced. Plus Pedals Pipes and Pizza in November, a cosponsored event featuring Daryl Robinson and the West Jersey Chamber Orchestra at Moorestown Presbyterian Church, an organ movie night at Gail Gassaway s home, an organ crawl to update the Atlantic City convention hall restoration, and a holiday party hosted by Bill Mitchell! Watch for more details later in the summer, and see you at the picnic!
