1 FIRST PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH In Contact A Publication of the First Presbyterian Church of Boone Equipping Ordinary People to Lead Extraordinary Lives in Christ Mission Sunday and Ministry Fair! Wondering how to get involved at FPC? Interested in working with others? Come to the FPC Ministry Fair and learn about all the different ways to serve! Sunday morning, June 7 at 10:00 am In the multi-purpose room!! There will be coffee and breakfast snacks!! Mexico Missions... This Sunday, we will have our Chiapas, Mexico mission team leading us in worship. They will be sharing their experiences and how God was at work among them and the people of Chiapas during their mission trip. This will be a great opportunity to learn more about how our church is making a difference there and how you can get involved in the future. And speaking of getting involved, our Stewardship Team is hosting a Ministry Fair during the Sunday School hour for all adults of the church on June 7. This will take place in the multi-purpose room and you will have time to learn more about our ministry opportunities and to actively signup to be involved. So come and learn about all the ways in which you can serve Christ at FPC, and experience a wonderful time of fellowship together. See you Sunday! June 5, 2015 First Light Service - 8:45AM Sunday School 10:00AM Traditional Service - 11:00AM Please remember in prayer Rev. Jeff Smith, the Session, the Diaconate, our staff, and our congregation in preparation for worship. Children s Bulletins by age are available in the Gathering Space.
2 Page 2 SUMMER SUNDAY SCHOOL WE ARE CHURCH This summer we will be trying something a little bit different in the Sunday School hour. For those who are interested, we will be offering an 8 week course called "We Are Church." We'll meet in the Multi-purpose room. The first part of the class will allow for fellowship - coffee and finger foods provided. Then about 10:15 we'll jump into our lesson. Our topics will include Fellowship, Teaching, Prayer, and Communion. This course is designed to have stand alone lessons - that means if you miss one Sunday, you can jump back in the next Sunday and not feel like you've missed anything. The end of each Sunday will allow for discussion time. We are hoping this format will provide opportunities for folks who don't usually study together, to get to know each other a little bit better. Facilitators for the class will be different each week. Please contact Elizabeth Abel with any questions.
