2 Grand Knight Letter.. Brothers: Here is a tid-bit of information on protocol at our meetings; at the June 05 Arizona State, Knights of Columbus Organizational Meeting, during the Grand Knights training (yes we can be trained), one of the many items discussed by our mentors was that the salute given to the Grand Knight is really a blessing. If you remember, and I know that you do, during the First Degree Exemplification, the Ceremonial Financial Secretary explains that...you are to address the Grand Knight as Worthy Grand Knight and salute him by making this sign, representing the tree of the cross. He will respond with this sign, representing the arms of the Cross and announce your name. In other words when you address the Grand Knight or Deputy Grand Knight, it is like making the sign of the cross out of mutual respect between the two of you. So therefore, please remember this and not flippantly wave ones hand nonchalantly about. I promise to do the same. 5 SEAS Catholic school. Mother Seton was Canonized on 14 September Yes, Venerable Brothers Elizabeth Ann Seton is a Saint! We rejoice and we are deeply moved by this event. Elizabeth Ann Bayley Seton is a Saint! She is the first daughter of the United States of America to be glorified with this incomparable attribute! We are blessed to be able to serve as Knights in a Parish bearing her name. Cady, Parochial Vicar at St. Elizabeth Ann Seton s (SEAS) is 25 years a knight of Columbus. Having taken his First Degree in 1980 at St. Monica s Parish, he has maintained his relationship with the Knights throughout his Priestly vocation, which includes assignments at Our Mother of Sorrows, St Ambrose, Most Holy Trinity in Rio Rico, Arizona and now at SEAS. Fr Frank was born in Tucson, attended Tucson High School. and entered St. John s Seminary in Camarillo, California in He is 24 years a Priest. Fr Frank is a Fourth Degree Knight and tries to get to meetings whenever he can. He is glad to have Council 8077 right here in the Parish he administers to on a daily basis.

7 K.C.FACTOID Over 90% of our priests in North America are members of the Knights of Columbus. Said one seminarian: The Knights always seemed to come at just the right time, when I needed them most. JOHN CORRADO KNIGHTS ANNUAL GOLF TOURNAMENT DRAWS 86 PLAYERS Kudos to John Corrado and his gang for a great golf tournament at the Golf Club at Vistoso. Eighty six satisfied golfers took to the links and had a great time hitting that little white ball. $3340 was raised for the People with Intellectual Disabilities Drive. Deacon Jim Burns won the raffle, a set of Ping G-2 Irons and the raffle went to Jerry Azarees for $125. John Corrado s team of Deacon Jim Burns, Don Jurgenson and Mike Ferrick took first place with a eagles, 12 birdies and 3 pars. A great time was had by all.
