It s the time our Branch looks to its members, both those with longer tenure and especially new members, to consider giving of their time and expertise to help continue making our Branch even stronger and more beneficial to its members. Most branches, including ours, are experiencing a decline of membership. We need members that feel they can help improve this trend to step forward and try new ways of improving our branch to make it more attractive to new retirees and others. We have a great Big Sir, Wayne Clark, coming in next year. We need someone to step up as Little Sir to assist Wayne and to follow him as Big Sir the following year. We need assistants in all our board positions to step up if needed so these positions continue to function smoothly should the present officers have to step down. This is the only way our branch can continue to stay strong. If any of you can help, please see Wayne, myself or any of the board. This would be greatly appreciated. Hopefully, we will have a wet winter to help improve the very dry fairways and the overall condition of the course. October, will find us playing exclusively at Castle Oaks, with our club championship play being the 2nd, 3rd and 4th Tuesdays. This fall, we will have a shot-gun starting time at 10AM, each Tuesday. Every SIR is welcome to play, even if you are not playing for the championship. Call our Tournament Director, Don Paris, at if you have any questions. He related on of his Tales of the Mother Lode FISHING CLUB Fall fishing should begin this month, as the water temperature cools. We expect to see an increase in the number of fish caught in our local waters. LAKE CAMANCHE is yielding trout and catfish, and some of these must have traveled downstream from Lake Pardee. Fish are being caught from shore and boat. LAKE PARDEE will close on November 4th and will reopen on February 15. The bright side for fishermen is the SACRAMENTO RIVER AND ITS TRIBUTARIES for hooking-up with chrom salmon; good from Rio Vista to Red Bluff.
