2 warden s corner PAGE 2 ST. LUKE S NEWSLETTER JOY TO THE WORLD et heaven and nature sing L as we celebrate the birth of Christ and rejoice in the naming of our new Rector, The Rev. Kenneth R. Pepin. Rev. Pepin will begin his parish ministry on February 1, 2019 bringing his talents in the areas of liturgy, pastoral care, and congregational development to St. Luke s. As we come to an end of our transitional process, it is fitting to extend our heartfelt thanks to the Search Committee: Gail Murray and Sherry Ralston (co-chairs), Georgiana Prince, Suzanne and Gary Roscoe, Andy Rodman and Mary Ellen Ennis and to the Vestry for their strong commitment, hours and energy devoted, and deep faith. We also give thanks to the lay ministries that have supported our congregational worship, all the committees and commissions, our staff, and all parishioners of St. Luke s for their faith, dedication and patience during our transition. To The Rev. Bill Petersen for his direction and education in the expanded Advent and the Rev. Daniel S. Pope, III for leading us in worship, we thank you. Wishing you the Blessing of Christmas, Your Wardens, Dave and Ralph

In October we fed 178 people so we really appreciate everyone helping our community. We still need the following items: coffee, hot chocolate, bottled juice, sugar, jelly, ketchup, mustard, salad dressing, canned hash, canned chili, canned beef stew, canned sloppy joes/manwich, cereal, oatmeal, shampoo and facial tissues. Thank you so much. Eileen THANK YOU RAIHN VOLUNTEERS! We had our most recent RAIHN rotation on Nov. 6 & 7. Thank you to our coordinator, Gary Gocek, for helping to make everything run smoothly. We really appreciate everyone who cooked, served, cleaned up, played with the children, and spent the night. Our next RAIHN rotation is Feb. 5 & 6. THANK YOU WORK DAY VOLUNTEERS Thank you to everyone who volunteered at our workday on November 17. Although the outdoor areas weren t taken care of due to the snow, the kitchen, coffee hour station, and pews got a good cleaning. Terrific work! RESPONDING TO CALIFORNIA S WILDFIRES The current wildfires in California have become the most destructive in the state s history. Episcopal Relief & Development is partnering with the Episcopal Diocese of Los Angeles and the Episcopal Diocese of Northern California as they coordinate with local congregations to provide emergency support. If you would like to help, please take a donation coupon on the table below the bulletin board or go online to: Thank you.
