Jean Thomason AKA Miss PattyCake says: It is my deep conviction and PASSION to help parents and teachers of toddlers/preschoolers obey the mandate of God from Deuteronomy 6:5-7. We are commanded to "LOVE the Lord our God" and then, "talk to your children about the Lord..." As a parent, I know the challenge of finding AGE APPROPRIATE ways in which to tell our little ones the great and glorious truths found in His Word - from creation to salvation through Jesus. On March 28, from 9:30 Noon, Jean Thomason/Miss PattyCake is coming to First Baptist Church! Jean will share with Mothers in the chapel from 9:30 10:30. While we are hearing from Jean, children and their fathers (or other responsible adult) will play in the Gathering Place. At 10:30, a light breakfast will be served to all who register and at 11:00 all adults and children will return to the chapel to see Miss PattyCake and sing with her some of her Praise Songs! This fun event is $10 per family and deadline for registration is on March 25. Register in the Childhood Ministries office. What a wonderful experience! Our Student Choir sang with excellence and spirit, and touched the lives of so many there in the Alzheimer s unit of the Redstone community. In addition to choral selections, the concert included solo selections from vocalists and instrumentalists. We also enjoyed some group singing with everybody in the room! As our Student Choir members had been learning in their preparations, the gift of music is a remarkably effective tool in breaking through some of the barriers presented by that tragic illness. Thank you, Student Choir, for ministering in this unique setting so beautifully. To God be the glory! This year we are once again using white geraniums instead of the usual Easter Lilies. This will allow those in our congregation and on staff who suffer from allergies to enjoy the beautiful flowers of Easter. If you would like to purchase a geranium in memory of or in honor of someone, you will find order envelopes at the Welcome Centers and in the Church Office. Cost is $8.00.
