2 Kia Ora Church Last Sunday Noah Mhlanga spoke of the Secret Place : a place of conception, illumination and revelation, protection, fruitfulness, resurrection, God-given dreams and promises being released, a place of birthing. If you missed this powerful message check out the ALC website. Proverbs 3:5-8 in the Passion Translation tells us Become intimate with Him in whatever you do, and He will lead you wherever you go. Don t think for a moment that you know it all, for wisdom comes when you adore Him with awe and wonder and avoid everything that s wrong. For then you will find the healing refreshment your body and spirit long for. Revival is birthed in the secret place, and finds expression through faith as we engage with the world around us. Romans 1:17b reminds us the just shall live by faith. Spirit led prayer and good works build a landing place for the King of glory to come and fulfil His plans for revival for Tauranga and beyond. Lift up your heads, oh you gates; lift them up, you everlasting doors, that the King of Glory may come in. With One Voice united prayer for our city officially ending, we realise our citywide one voice needs to continue, firstly in the secret place and secondly, by continuing to meet together as the Church of our city, and be led by Him. Many sense there has been a shift during this time of concerted prayer, but is in the Secret Place with God that true revival is birthed, and this needs to find a united corporate expression. Be expectant! We live in an exciting Kairos time! Righteousness exalts a nation, sin is a reproach to any people. Proverbs 14:34 Following the general elections, let s continue to pray for a stable Godly government working together for the good of the nation. Sunday 5 th November: Between ALC and MEGA Life services, our new building will be open to us all for guided tours. Please observe the health and safety rules of the building site, to ensure everyone s safety. A fundraising lunch of noodles & a sausage sizzle will be available, to raise funds for a leadership conference to be held next year in the Philippines, with Duane & Jenny Newport. More on the missions front: We look forward to hearing from Steve, Alvin & their teams having recently returned from ministering overseas, and from Mike & Janne returning 6 th Nov from Perth. Last Monday I went to collect an item from Hibiscus Avenue. A man opened the door when I arrived and said the person concerned was away, but he was boarding there.

6 Last Monday I went to collect an item from Hibiscus Avenue. A man opened the door when I arrived and said the person concerned was away, but he was boarding there. He couldn t help with lifting and seemed short of breath, and then needed to sit down; so I asked what the matter was? He replied, lung cancer. I went over to him and asked if he believed in God. He said he believed, but didn t practice. I asked if he had ever received Jesus as his Lord. He didn t know; so I said, Jesus came down from heaven; was supernaturally born of a virgin; grew up as a man like us; went to the cross; died for our sins and God raised Him from the dead and made Him Lord. He replied, when we die we go back to the elements. I said, our bodies do, but our soul and spirit live forever. The soul is our mind, will and emotions, and we will know and feel everything for eternity. He listened, and then asked if I knew anything about Quantum Physics? I said I didn t, and continued saying, when Jesus hung on the cross there were two criminals, one either side of Him. One mocked Jesus saying, if you are Christ save yourself and us. But the other rebuked him saying, don t you fear God? We justly deserve our due rewards, but this man has done nothing wrong. Then he said, Lord, remember me when you come into your kingdom. Jesus replied, assuredly, today you will be with me in paradise. (Luke 23:39-43). I told him that all three died that day; one went to paradise to be with the Lord, the other rejected Christ, who was his only source of life, and chose damnation. I said, I don t mean to be blunt, but this is about your eternal life. He said okay; so I continued saying, it s important to realise that eternity is forever and ever. Jesus is the Lord and we need to ask Him to be our Lord. I told him the Devil believes in God too, but he is opposing God. I said God is love and can restore all things, including your health. I gave him a tract and offered to pray for him saying, God may heal you and give you extra time, but he was not willing. Perhaps later He will think about our conversation and seek after the Lord, as the criminal did that day when he faced death. As I left I prayed God would show him mercy and grant repentance unto to salvation. Paul said to Timothy, preach the word, be urgent in and out of season, for the time will come when they won t listen to sound doctrine; having itching ears they will heap up teachers after their own lusts and turn away after myths, but you be sober in all things, endure hardship, do the work of an evangelist and make full proof of your ministry. Only Jesus is able to save souls, but we have to proclaim His message. Every believer baptised in the Holy Spirit has the power to be a witness for Christ. Jesus said you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be my witnesses in Jerusalem, Judea, and Samaria and to the ends of the earth, (Acts 1:8). All authority has been given to me; go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, of the Son and of the Holy Spirit. (Matthew 28:18-19). We continue to share the gospel of Christ every Thursday, Saturday and Sunday afternoon, and meet each Thursday evening for fellowship, Bible study and prayer. You are most welcome to join us.
