1 GLOBAL REVIVAL EVANGELISTIC MINISTRY (GREM) Foundation Class What every Christian should know Global Revival Evangelistic Ministry (GREM) changing lives, enforcing God s kingdom

2 Lesson 1 UNDERSTANDING SALVATION 1. SALVATION: WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE SAVED? a) All sins, past, present and future are forgiven. (Heb.9:12, 1 Jn 2: :2) b) You have eternal life. ( 1 John 5:11-13, John 3:16) c) You are a child of God. ( John 1:12) d) You are now a new creature in God. (2 Cor.5:17) 2. A PERSON S CONDITION BEFORE SALVATION The bible calls all non- Christian sinners, which means that they transgress of break God s law. 1 John 3:4 tells us that everyone Who sins breaks the law, in fact sin is lawlessness. The sinner is plagued by 2 kinds of sin: A. ORIGINAL SIN This is referred to the total corruption of man s whole human nature. It means that by nature man is without true fear, love and Trust in God. He (man) is without righteousness, inclined to evil and is spiritually blind, spiritually dead and an enemy of God. We are born with Sin nature which we inherited from Adam and spiritual death was passed onto us all through sin. See Romans 5:12 One is not a sinner because he committed (act of) sin, but he commits sin because he is a sinner e.g. has a sin nature We are born with a sin-nature and the result of our NATURE is what we COMMIT, acts of sin. Psalm 51:5, Romans 7: :14-20 B. ACTUAL SIN Actual sin every ACT against the commandments of God in thoughts, words, deeds or desires. It is the ORIGINAL sin (sin-nature) in our lives that causes us to commit ACTUAL or acts of sin. Because God is holy and righteous, He cannot tolerate sin. Therefore sin must be dealt with and removed if we are to find fellowship with God. The sinner finds salvation from sin only in the gospel, which tells us that Christ our substitute fulfilled

3 the Law (matt.5:17) and suffered for us that His righteousness is given to us (fulfilled in us Romans 8:3-4) when we receive Him by faith. (Romans 3: :21-22, Mat. 5:17, Romans 8:3-4) 3. GOD S PUNISHMENT FOR SIN Curses, sickness, physical death, separation from God both now and eternally in the late of fire. (Deut.28:15-18, Romans 6:23) 4. GOD DECIDED TO SAVE MANKIND FOR THREE REASONS a) He loves man (John 3:16, Psalm 8:1-9) b) We could not make it in our own way through good deeds, churchh membership, religions, etc. (Isaiah 64:6) c) That we may show forth His praise (1Peter 2:9) 5. GOD DECIDED TO SAVE MANKIND THROUGH JESUS CHRIST WHO HAD TO COME AND DIED ON THE CROSS FOR YOU AND I BECAUSE a) Without shedding of blood there is no forgiveness of sin. (Heb.9:22, Lev, 17:11) b) He is the Lamb of God that takes away the sin of the world. (Jn 1:29, Rev. 5:1-10, Is 53:7, Mat 1:21) 6. WHAT MUST MAN DO TO BE SAVED? a) Believe in the Lord Jesus Christ the Lamb of God. (John 1:12) b) Accept Him with your Heart. ( Romans 10:9-10) 7. WHO THEN IS BORN AGAIN? A born again Christian is someone who has invited Jesus Christ into his life and believes that Christ has come into his heart. Rev.3:20, John 15:7, Romans 8:14,10:10
