This is the day the LORD has made, and I will sing my Maker s praise! This is the day the LORD has made, I will rejoice and give God praise! Who is like unto our God the LORD, strong and mighty? Who is like unto our God who reigns above in glorious splendor? This is the day the LORD has made, and I will be exceeding glad! This is the day the LORD has made. I will be glad! Opening Hymn: All Hail the Power of Jesus Name (Hymnal #263) Text: Stanzas 1 3, Edward Perronet, 1779, 1780; stanzas 2 3, alt. John Rippon, 1787; stanza 4, John Rippon, 1787; Music: Oliver Holden, 1793; desc. Michael E. Young, 1979; Tune: Coronation All hail the power of Jesus name! Let angels prostrate fall Bring forth the royal diadem, and crown him Lord of all! Bring forth the royal diadem, and crown him Lord of all! Ye chosen seed of Israel s race, ye ransomed from the fall Hail him who saves you by his grace, and crown him Lord of all! Hail him who saves you by his grace, and crown him Lord of all! Let every kindred, every tribe on this terrestrial ball To him all majesty ascribe, and crown him Lord of all! To him all majesty ascribe, and crown him Lord of all!
4 O that with yonder sacred throng we at his feet may fall! We ll join the everlasting song, and crown him Lord of all! We ll join the everlasting song, and crown him Lord of all! Great Are You Lord Words and Music by Jason Ingram, Leslie Jordan, and David Leonard You give life. You are love. You bring light to the darkness You give hope. You restore ev ry heart that is broken, and great are You Lord. It s Your breath in our lungs, so we pour out our praise, we pour out our praise It s Your breath in our lungs, so we pour out our praise to You only It s Your breath in our lungs, so we pour out our praise, we pour out our praise It s Your breath in our lungs, so we pour out our praise to You only And all the earth will shout Your praise Our hearts will cry, these bones will sing, Great are You, Lord! Psalm 119:1 8 (The Message) You re blessed when you stay on course, walking steadily on the road revealed by God. You re blessed when you follow his directions, doing your best to find him. That s right you don t go off on your own; you walk straight along the road he set. You, God, prescribed the right way to live; now you expect us to live it. Oh, that my steps might be steady, keeping to the course you set; Then I d never have any regrets in comparing my life with your counsel. I thank you for speaking straight from your heart; I learn the pattern of your righteous ways. I m going to do what you tell me to do; don t ever walk off and leave me. Preparation for Prayer: Beati quorum via Texts: Psalm 119:1; Music: Charles Viliers Stanford ( ) Beati quorum via integra est Qui ambulant in lege Domini Psalm 119:9 16 (The Message) How can a young person live a clean life? By carefully reading the map of your Word. I m single-minded in pursuit of you; Blessed are those whose way is blameless who walk in the law of the LORD
5 don t let me miss the road signs you ve posted. I ve banked your promises in the vault of my heart so I won t sin myself bankrupt. Be blessed, God; train me in your ways of wise living. I ll transfer to my lips all the counsel that comes from your mouth; I delight far more in what you tell me about living than in gathering a pile of riches. I ponder every morsel of wisdom from you, I attentively watch how you ve done it. I relish everything you ve told me of life, I won t forget a word of it. Prayer of Confession Redeeming God, we confess that we have not loved you with our whole heart, and have not loved our neighbors as we ought; we have strayed from your commandments. Do not remember our shortcomings, but forgive our iniquities, that we may fix our eyes on you and wander no more, through Christ our Lord. Response: Speak, O Lord Text & Music: Keith Getty & Stuart Townend Speak, O Lord, as we come to You to receive the food of Your Holy Word Take Your truth, plant it deep in us; shape and fashion us in Your likeness That the light of Christ might be seen today in our acts of love and our deeds of faith Speak, O Lord, and fulfill in us all Your purposes for Your glory Teach us, Lord, full obedience, Holy reverence, true humility Test our thoughts and our attitudes in the radiance of Your purity Cause our faith to rise, cause our eyes to see Your majestic love and authority Words of pow r that can never fail; let their truth prevail over unbelief Speak, O Lord, and renew our minds; help us grasp the heights of Your plans for us Truths unchanged from the dawn of time, that will echo down through eternity And by grace we ll stand on Your promises, and by faith we ll walk as You walk with us Speak, O Lord, till Your church is built and the earth is filled with Your glory Scripture: Matthew 28:16 20 Now the eleven disciples went to Galilee, to the mountain to which Jesus had directed them. When they saw him, they worshiped him; but some doubted. And Jesus came and said to them, All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make
6 disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything that I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age. Meditation: Benediction Words & Music: Charlie Lowell, Stephen Mason, Dan Haseltine, & Matt Odmark Go into the world showing how much He loves you Walk in the world in merciful ways He loves you He loves you Emmanuel on earth Yours is the body the hands and the feet And Yours are the eyes to look compassionately To bless you and me, bless you and me He will bless you and me Go into the world showing how much He loves you Walk in the world in meaningful ways He loves you He loves you Emmanuel on earth God with us on earth To bless you and me, bless you and me, to bless you and me Go into the world showing how much He loves you The Lord s Prayer Our Father, who art in heaven, hallowed be thy name, thy kingdom come, thy will be done, on earth as it is in heaven Give us this day our daily bread; and forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors; and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil For thine is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, forever. Amen. Closing Hymn: Lord You Give the Great Commission (Hymnal #298, verses 1, 2, 5) Text: Jeffery W. Rowthorn, 1978; Music: Cyril Vincent Tayor, 1941; Tune: Abbot s Leigh Lord, you give the great commission: Heal the sick and preach the word. Lest the church neglect its mission, and the gospel go unheard, Help us witness to your purpose with renewed integrity: refrain: With the Spirit s gifts empower us for the work of ministry Lord, you call us to your service: In my name baptize and teach. That the world may trust your promise, life abundant meant for each Give us all new fervor, draw us closer in community: refrain Lord, you bless with words assuring: I am with you to the end. Faith and hope and love restoring, may we serve as you intend And, amid the cares that claim us, hold in mind eternity: refrain
