He may be the priority of your life, it may have been a while since you connected with him, or you may be exploring these things for the first time. At McLean Presbyterian, we celebrate God s grace: Jesus came to give us life today and for eternity. This offer is made to us all; whatever your background, we re delighted you re here! 5 We acknowledge our need of forgiveness and renewal through the cleansing blood of Jesus CONFESSION OF SIN Everlasting Father, you have called us to live upright and holy lives, but we confess that we have not been above reproach in all things. In our arrogance, we have put our own interests above the flourishing of others. In our quick tempers and impatience, we have failed to show self-control. In our greed, we have neglected hospitality and generosity toward others. Forgive us, O Lord, and cleanse us from our sins. Prove your mercy so that we may develop beautiful character and build beautiful homes that display your gospel. By your Spirit, help us to receive the love of Christ so that we may live like him. We pray all this in the name of our Redeemer and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen. God reminds us of his promise of forgiveness in Christ ASSURANCE OF PARDON HEBREWS 10:15-17 And the Holy Spirit also bears witness to us; for after saying, This is the covenant that I will make with them after those days, declares the Lord: I will put my laws on their hearts, and write them on their minds, then he adds, I will remember their sins and their lawless deeds no more. 3

6 We enjoy and extend the peace of the gospel to one another GIVING OF THE PEACE Leader: Because our sins are forgiven in Christ, we now have peace with God and peace with one another. May the peace of Christ be with you! People: And also with you! 9 God sends us out with his blessing BENEDICTION 2 CORINTHIANS 13:14 Leader: May the grace of the Lord Jesus Christ and the love of God and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit be with you all. Amen. We go out with joy and purpose in the Lord POSTLUDE THIS I BELIEVE As recipients of his grace, we give back to God a portion of what is already his GIVING OF OUR TITHES AND OFFERINGS We want to be a generous community. In response to the grace we ve received, we seek to give cheerfully, diligently, proportionately, and sacrificially (2 Cor 8:1-15).
