[Esther, 9:20-22]. Come celebrate one of the most joyous days on the calendar, the Jewish holiday of Purim. We read the whole megillah in the synagogue sanctuary on Saturday, 23 FEB 2013, at 7:00 PM. The holiday, not just for children, teaches enduring lessons. As we try to drown out the name of our nemesis, think about some of the conversations. Haman wants to destroy a certain people, scattered and separate. Esther knows better, and says to assemble together all the Jews. There s more to learn - just follow along. Please welcome our programming partner Temple Israel and the Jewish community as we learn about American Jews in Time of War. Rabbi Panitz facilitates three learning sessions in the Kempsville Conservative Synagogue sanctuary covering: The Civil War, 7:30 PM on Tuesday, 12 FEB 2013 World War II, 7:30 PM on Tuesday, 19 FEB 2013 Vietnam, 7:30 PM on Tuesday, 26 FEB 2013 Inputs (printed with space permitting) 1.
