Quran Section Surah Al Asr Imam Ash Shafiee said if no surah was revealed besides Al Asr then it would be sufficient. Why? Because it s giving the equation to a successful life. Ayah 1 ٱل ع ص ر ) (و (By Al-'Asr (the time).) To swear,(قسم) Allah can swear by anything, but we can only swear by.(جل جلاله) Allah swears by time because of its (جل جلاله) the time, Allah (ال + عصر ( importance. The word (عصر) means to squeeze, the time of asr prayer is like it s squeezed, it s the end of the day ( العصر آخر النهار,(وقت and it quickly passes..(الدهر) time Another meaning is All of our deeds are done during the time we have. Our capital ( المال (رأس is time this is what we have in our hands. (الكلمة) The Word و وٱل ع صر Ayah 2 ( ن ٱ ل نس ن ل فى خ س ر (إ (Verily, man is in loss) the human (ال + انسان ( o :(ال) the, defined o :(انسان) comes from (نسي) which is to forget, and in the Quran when the insan is mentioned then it means the one who forgets his purpose in life. And since we are in society, we need to be beneficial and helpful. is in (ل + في ( o :(ل) verily o :(في) in, to be drowned, submerged in something, what is he drowning in? Loss, the opposite of loss is (ربح) winning. لفى خ سر Ayah 3 ( ل ٱل ذين ء ام ن وا و ع مل وا ٱلص ل ح ت و ت و اص و ا بٱل ح ق و ت و اص و ا ب ٱلصب ر (إ (Except those who believe (in Islâmic Monotheism) and do righteous good deeds, and recommend one another to the truth (i.e. order one another to perform all kinds of good deeds (Al-Ma'ruf) which Allâh has ordained, and abstain from all kinds of sins and evil deeds (Al-Munkar) which Allâh has forbidden), and recommend one another to patience) Except those who, you need to do all four together to be taken out of loss. Not one or the other; they re all connected to each other. (اسم موصول ( word connecting :(ٱل ذين ) (1) Believe, it comes from (آمن) which is security. The one who believes will have security. (2) To do righteous good deeds (ال + صالح + ات ( fixes. means good and reformed and (صلح) So righteous good deeds reform and fix a person. Any good deeds which change us are called.(ٱلص لح ت ) And it reforms us to be in the standard of being in the vicinity of Allah in paradise. A person completes himself ( (تكميل ا لنسان نفسه when he believes and does righteous good deeds. (3) To advise on the truth, to help others, to remind others to advise and enjoin :(ت + واصى + وا ( truth. truth, they are advising each other with :(الحق) Truth is anything which comes from Allah and truth is something which has to happen. (4) To advise on patience patience :(صبر) We need to be patient with each other, pardon and give excuses for one another. And they enjoin to truth وتواصوا بالصبر.اوصى بعضهم بعضا بالصبر على الطاعة They enjoin one another to obedience. And they enjoin to patience Questions: by? How does a person give support to someone who s scared? :(ﷺ) said to the Prophet (رضي هللا عنها) Memorize what Khadija وهللا ما يخزيك هللا أبدا انك لتصل الرحم وتحمل الكل وتكسب المعدوم وتقري الضيف وتعين على نوائب الحق. By Allah, Allah will not disgrace you: o you connect to relatives o you take care of those who are clueless o you earn for the one who doesn t have money o you accommodate the guests o and you help in times of calamities. Then Khadija هللا عنها) (رضي took the Prophet (ﷺ) to her relative Warqa bin Nawfal. He had knowledge and read the previous books. Out of Allah s decree, Khadija هللا عنها) (رضي was related to Warqa bin Nawfal. What did he say? This is the revelation which was sent to Musa (as). He said I wish I was younger to support you when your people will drive you away. The Prophet (ﷺ) said will people take me out?. He said, yes, anyone who has revelation like this will surely have his people declare enmity against him. This is sunnat Allah (جل جلاله) when there s truth, there is falsehood. For sure there will be enemies but not to worry because sufficient is Allah (جل جلاله) for you as a Guide and Supporter..(ﷺ) Warqa bin Nawfal is in paradise because he was seen in a dream by the Prophet After some time, the revelation stopped. 8 P a g e
