Have you been to the movies lately? There is a brilliant commercial starring M&M s (yes, those candy coated chocolates that melt in your mouths, not in your hands).these M&M s are strapped to spaceship of sorts --- preparing to take them into orbit.the M&M s thought they were safe and secure, but suddenly they see a clock ticking away time beneath their candy-coated selves..at one point one the M&M s speaks up, Why is the clock still ticking???. Those M&M s remind me of my experience as a child. The day my Mother turned the calendar over to the month of August, I knew the clock was ticking.it was not long before she would ask me to go shopping for school (yuk) clothes.i would be asked to pick out a new school (yuk) lunch pail I was ordered to bed earlier so my body could get accustomed to school (yuk) time.the clock was ticking I never did like that clock. Perhaps you don t like it either. You and I want to hang on to our summer fun before we give in to all the fall demands. Someone stop the clock! We don t want to put away the beach towels. Unplug the clock! We like sand between our toes. Ignore the clock! Cedar Point is still open! Get rid of the clock! OR.OR.OR.you can choose to see the clock as your friend. Your invitation to incredibly new blessings. New teachers. New adventures. New learnings. New experiences. New friends. Every fall the Church cherishes the NEW blessings God gives us! There will be a newness in our Bible studies. A new spirit in our worship life. New opportunities to serve our Lord. New music. The clock is ticking and I welcome it we are ready to TAKE OFF in August, September, October, November and December! Sooo set aside the summer novels and pick up His Word again. Pack away the beach towels and come to the Lord s Table. Enjoy August and anticipate every new blessing the Lord Jesus has for you and your family! I love it! Peace Pastor Matt
