Through a better understanding of the spiritual principles, practices and contributions that Christian stewardship makes to personal development and kingdom growth, students will more effectively manage the resources God has entrusted to them. 3 2023 Creative Ways of Teaching This course will provide instruction on the different methods of teaching in the local church setting. It is designed to assist teachers in discovering new teaching strategies to accommodate various learning styles. Cynthia Jackson* 2026 The Church s Teaching Ministry to Children This course is designed to help the children s teacher become better equipped in the art of teaching. Vision: The Worship Arts Division is designed that we might understand the theology and practice of worship and explore the many art forms that can be used in worship. The aim is to grow the participants area of experience and to expand their knowledge base of the Worship Arts and how the Worship Arts can be effectively used during worship services. It is also desirable that participants grow spiritually and leave with new ideas to strengthen themselves, their ministries and churches. When registering for courses in this division students are to select one of the seminars listed below for your morning session AND one of the workshops listed as an afternoon session. Afternoon workshops are designed to give participants interactive experiences in displaying gifts and talents through various forms of worship through arts.

WA101 We ve Come to Worship Him: Approaching God Through Worship The purpose of this class is to provide a clear understanding of the biblical meaning and purpose of worship. Emphasis will be placed on worship as moving into the presence of God and on the different approaches and styles of worship in the African American Baptist churches of today. Dr. R.L. White WA102 The Worship Arts This course will review the historical and current roles and implementation of the arts in worship. The course will include music, dance, dress, speech, painting, sculpture, drama, mime, media presentations and other art forms used to influence worship and church life. Worship Arts Faculty WA103 Organization and Administration of Church Music Ministries This course will provide the local minister of music and church leadership with the foundational and organizational structure for meaningful church music ministry. It will also furnish the students with musical resources that are appropriate and meaningful to the congregation in worship and Christian education. Rev. Michael Sherman WA104 The Art of Accompanying This course will examine the study techniques, procedures and processes appropriate for meaningful accompaniment in a worship setting. It will present the students with creative art styles, traditional forms of music and practical applications of the instrumental forms for the occasion as a choir or individual. Bro.
