1 TRINITY TOWER Trinity where the women are strong and smart, caring, serviceminded, independent, faithful and so much more. In January, the women of Trinity were asked to participate in a survey. We received 117 responses and learned the following: We want dinner/speaker events! We want to gather, be inspired, be informed and come together as a community of faith. We want to connect with other women in exercise related classes. We want to read the Bible together. One of the most interesting things that happened? We heard from women who haven t been connected to Trinity in awhile! On March 8, a group of Trinity women (with representation from almost every decade ) came together to brainstorm ideas based on the results of the survey. Our intent was to get some dates on the calendar, get the ball rolling and share ideas for possible speakers, etc. Gulp. That didn t happen! We got the ball rolling but down a whole different hill. We started to discuss just what IS women s ministry at Trinity in 2016? We also discovered many women were unaware of all the existing opportunities! First things first! Please see the included list of all the wonderful existing opportunities for women at Trinity. Call or the contact person if you are interested in participating. Second, be patient and watch for updates as we create a ministry faith statement that will help us discern the future of women s ministry at Trinity. If you are interested in taking part in this process, we would love to hear from you! Contact Stacey Royal (sroyal@phatminds.com), Terrie Allen (terriea@trinitylonglake.org) or Pastor Carrie (carries@trinitylonglake.org). Pray for this process. Don t wait! Reach out to women you do not know. Start building more relationships now. Connect with women of different ages. The more multigenerational we are, the stronger we will be. If you are already participating in one of the existing groups invite someone new to join you. And finally get excited about the fall of 2016! April 15-17,2016 Thank you for the generous financial support! Donations are still being accepted. We have over 900 volunteer shifts filled of 1,800 total. Invite friends and family to help pack meals. Details on page 2.

4 The Heart of a Village Together in El Salvador As our six-members Trinity Thrivent Builds team returns from a week in the community of Getsemani in El Salvador, we reflect on the impact we have made on this community and the impact they have made on us. We have had the privilege to be the hands of God and our congregation as we shoveled dirt, moved concrete blocks and painted to make two families dreams of a safe home become reality. But more than our physical labor, it was our very presence, our friendship, our hugs, our laughter and our clumsy attempts to speak Spanish that built relationships and hope for a better life. From the first Thrivent Builds trip to this area in 2011 to today we can see so much progress. The heart and potential of this community was so evident as the women of the co-op told us about their work, taught a cooking class for us and held a shoe sale with all of the shoes we brought along. Your donations built the capacity of the co-op to help the people as the proceeds from the shoe sale and our gift of sewing supplies support their local work. The people of the community were so happy to purchase shoes for $2 vs. needing to pay more than a typical day s wage of $15 to buy them in a store. Economic capacity and safe homes are the visible signs of our time here but it is what is written in our hearts that is the true result. The people of El Salvador have built our faith, skills and capacity to love and serve. This week we saw the face of Christ in each child and adult and they saw the face of Christ in us. We know that as we leave a piece of the heart of Trinity in this village, God will build our capacity ten-fold to love and serve others near and far. On behalf of our team thank you to our Trinity family for your prayers, support and donations. On Sunday, April 3, some photos from our trip will be shared during worship. And, we hope you will join us in the Fireside room between services so that we can share the faith, stories and inspiration that we are carrying back to you from our brothers and sisters in Christ in El Salvador. Melanie DeLuca, Ed Glover, Jerry Paulson, Abby Norlin- Weaver, Mike & Betsy Taylor Did you know? From the General fund this is the budget breakdown of how you support "Outreach Ministry" 76% supports the Mpls Area ELCA Synod and their work, which includes support of ELCA Disaster Response and ELCA World hunger 11% supports Simpson & St. Stephen s shelter, IOCP, Mpls Crisis Nursery, volunteer ministry at Trinity, general expenses 6% supports Trinity s Preschool 6% supports local Thrivent Builds, River of Life, Families Moving Forward and AGAPE Market 1% supports Global Ministry (all Global Mission trips are fully funded by participants and donor contributions). In addition, your support of the AGAPE Gift Market through purchases & your individual financial donations support causes or organizations (IOCP, FMSC, 363 Days Sandwich project, FMSC, Seeds of Hope sponsorship and other organizations), as a church you have supported an additional $123,276 to mission outreach. Thank you for your support of all. 4 More photos on back cover & Trinity s facebook page. Consider doing some early shopping Sundays, April 24 & May 1. The team has created some spring and summer and teacher gifts. Stop by the tables in the narthex. Group & Vendor Participation. Is your group or are you an individual that would be interested in participating in the large market November 12-13? Forms with details are at the Information Desk.
5 Families Moving Forward Thank you! A heartfelt thank you to the many people that continue to support this ministry in various ways. From Sara Kemp, Family Advocate staff. I want to thank you for everything you did and continue to do for FMF families, such a blessing. The families truly enjoyed being at Trinity, you made them feel so supported. And thank you to Stacey Royal and Steve Dzubay for the donations of furniture and to Cliff, Troy and Tyler Koltes for delivering items. These items were delivered to Anthony and his son JKwan that stayed with us last year and are in their own place after several years of struggling with homelessness. They were so thankful for the furniture helping their place to feel like a home. Consider supporting our 78 Seeds of Hope students in El Salvador. Here are two ways: Donate school supplies by June 30: markers, pencil sharpeners, pencils, scissors, erasers, glue, USB memory sticks, notebooks, calculators and pens. Place in Sign-up Center bin. In Peace, Nathan Berkas Worship Trinity Lutheran Church worship is now available on the internet, anywhere you go! You may have noticed the video camera, platform, and added computer equipment in the sanctuary near the sound desk. Trinity Lutheran is now live-streaming and archiving our Sunday worship services in Youtube. We have had a very positive response as we have been working out the details of this project and now are proud to announce it to the congregation and the world. Here are some details about live-streaming. 1. Live-Streaming means that the service we are recording is being uploaded with a 10 second delay to our Youtube channel. Wherever you are in the world you can access our Sunday morning worship at 8:45 or 10:15 depending on which service we stream. 2. Trinity Long Lake Live is our channel name. Go to Youtube and search that name. You will see all the services we have archived, as well as the current streaming worship on Sunday morning. Simply click on the date you wish to view. 6 Trinity Tower (952) , Fax (952) Articles are due by April 19 to cindyp@trinitylonglake.org Pastor Brian Fragodt Pastor Carrie Scheller 3. We Need Camera Operators. Training is provided. We have made the process very simple so all you need is an eye on the camera and an interest in making this ministry available to the world. We will stream all worship events for which we have volunteers at the camera. See Mark if you are interested.
